Will be interesting to see if McDaniels/Caserio are under consideration and if they'd be interested. Steve Spagnuolo is the interim HC and certainly would be in the running for the permanent role.

crazy to me that you let the last act of a coach you are going to fire end a starting streak of your long time franchise QB.

Eli is the best QB on that roster, if hes not your future thats fine, but there is enough tape on geno smith to know hes not the answer. IMO i'd avoid playing for or coaching the giants like the plague.

Not that crazy. Better than having that be the way a brand new coach starts his career. It takes that stigma off of whoever they bring in.

Apparently Eli is going to start next week so looks like the new coach is going to have to deal with it also.

better to just finish out the season and part ways. Eli gets the chance to continue his streak for the jags or broncos, new york gets a fresh start.

This sequence makes no sense other than Mara thought it was a good idea to make parting with Eli end of season easier, and did not expect the backlash, so is now backing up.

If Mara thought it was so bad that the coach should be fired, then Mara should've stepped at the start of last week and fixed it. No way Mcadoo decided on his own that starting Geno over Eli was the best chance of winning that game

I think the "fall guy" theory is a strong one. Ownership knows QB is mega popular but also knows they aren't going to pay him next year. Team sucks so coach and GM are going too. Either McDon't himself decides benching Eli is the way to go, or the idea gets planted, and ownership looks the other way. A week later after the spam hits the fan they can use it as their trigger to let go of coach and GM and can now walk away from QB since the streak is over.

And GM and coach know if they should ever rat out the ownership, they'll never get a job in the NFL ever again.

We won't know what went down till the 20/20 comes out.
