I think he's pretty average -- certainly not a top ten QB -- but he's still missing routine throws today. I've watched him since his first snaps at UGA, and he's better than what he showed today. I agree that he shouldn't have received that contract, but he's definitely a serviceable starter in the NFL.

Such a Lions sequence. They could have theoretically still gotten a TD, recovered an onside kick, and and made a FG to stay in the game after giving up a FG, but by committing the penalty to give the Vikings a first down, they sealed their own fate. Quintessential Lions.

Stafford is one of those quarterbacks who isn't a star but is good enough that trying to replace him could go very, very poorly so you're married to this good but not great, flawed QB and stuck paying him a ton.
