Browns coaching staff “irate” with FO over Garoppolo trade

Breaking news: Going forward. the Browns org has decided to equip the front office folks with cellphones.

Ironically wasn't it the Browns who were penalized for having cell phones on the sideline or something?.......or did I make that up

You don't say?

Oh man that's great. The kid should get a custom jersey with a name of "The Next One" or "JAG"

The owners should force Cleveland to move, rename, and burn to the ground all ties with the old franchise. The Cleveland Browns are a disgrace. Better yet, force Haslam to sell the team.

I do wonder if BB tried to contact the Browns the day the SF trade started. It seems to me it would be the smart thing to do. We did hear this trade process began early in the morning that day.

(A) They probably still wouldn't have outbid the 49ers. (B) The 49ers have the added advantage of being in the other conference.

Mike Lombardi also made the point on his Ringer podcast that with the 49ers you're dealing with 1 person who can make the deal happen. It's also a much better situation for JAG to be on a Kyle Shanahan coached team. We've also heard that the 49ers current office appears to be at least as good as what the Browns were offering before the draft. Finally, Kyle Shanahan is someone BB respects and can work with. These are all reasons why the Patriots made the decision to trade and got it done in less than a day when working with the 49ers.

I hate the Browns.

Don't ask me why.

Screw them.

You can virtually consider Bryan Hoyer as being part of the trade, so that may very well have been a huge factor in refusing to deal with Cleveland.

Getting Hoyer plus an early 2nd rounder in return for a player you were going to lose in 3 months (and, ideally, ends up not playing a single play for you this year anyway) is not the worst thing that could have happened.

Who cares?

This would be like a giant caring about the feelings of an ant.

Mike Lombardi must be laughing his ASS off! :D:D:D

Jason LaCanforna predicting Josh McDaniels Caserio to be new GM HC of the Brown's?

I kind of doubt it.

LaConfira is never right. He has no access left and actually has a poor relationship with the browns FO, who he would have had to get this info from
This is worse than fake news

I don't know Andy. I'm still holding out for the Pats to trade the acquired 2nd for a Top DL guy before the trade deadline.

The Browns sports media was wrong about the first round pick (and more) offer around draft time. Why should we believe them this time?

You are presuming that AJ will have one choice in free agency. Now, he will listen to offers and consider the benjamins.
Do you really want to tag him though? And I like McCaron for the record but damn that's a steep price.

:)
Yup, we probably could have gotten a high second and a late round pick. And of course, CLE would have thrown in one of their QB's to be Brady's backup.

He won't be tagged. He'll be a free agent, with lots more options than CLE.

He's still just an RFA next season -- the 1st-round tender should be around $4 million, not too bad.

Well I'm saying had Cleveland traded for him, were they prepared to tag him after giving up a high 2nd and 3rd? Not so sure he's worth that.
