Jets Suck -- 2017 Edition (Official): Countdown to Oblivion

All the "tank plan" has done is given the jete fans a free season long lunch ticket. They're posting all over the internet "we suck and we're proud". "We suck because that's the plan". hahaha It's insane.

"Last year we sucked but that wasn't planned so it sucked but this year we are planning to suck so it's great".

I can understand why they have embraced the suck. I am sure actually trying to root for this team is a bit horrifying.

I actually like the fact that Jets fans have embraced the suck. They stopped deceiving themselves into thinking they have a chance. Their fans have accepted that TB and BB are the goats. They will just try again later.

If anything, I feel like Jets fans have given up hope to the point where they have become quasi-Patriots fans. The radio guys Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts are die-hard Jets fans. Yet they are not afraid to sing the praises of our superior franchise.

JetFan79, if you doubt me, check out to Joe & Evan's post Super Bowl Coverage. The level of respect that these Jets fans have for the Patriots approaches, but is not quite fandom. It is rather long however; not sure if you want to relive the Super Bowl for that long.

You don't have to respect the Patriots to that degree if you don't want to. We can just root against the Jets together instead.

Oh I don't doubt you about these two fools. At least I assume they're fools. Don't think I've ever heard/seen them. Sports talk around here is a joke. They just praise Yanks (deservingly) and Giants, while killing Jets n Mets. Same goes for sports writers.

But you said Jet fans in general, and that isn't even close to true. Just remember NY writers/reporters/hosts... who aim for clicks/ratings, in no way whatsoever have the pulse of the fanbase. Any fools they let call in are just that, fools that are hand picked.

Good chance it's similar in Boston, but the NY market with so many teams (and the Giant/Jet Yanks/Mets dynamic) I imagine raises it to a whole 'nother level.

Listen/watch/read these fools for entertainment, sure. Just realize they're considered jackasses by the fans.

As far as rooting for Jet losses this season... I'm right there with ya man. Cheers!

Doing a little reading on Fins and the Jete boards for elimination pool purposes and came across this gem on Gang Green
" After spending almost 50 years getting pissed off when the Jets lost, it will be kind of weird getting pissed off if they win"

Please note the poster did not spell Jete correctly.

Lies, nonsense and yet more delusional hooey. Everyone knows that by their very nature, Jete fans LOVE what hurts them most. And of course, whenever media members tell the honest truth about inherent Green Beans organizational failure, they're "jackasses" trolling for clicks/ratings.

No genuine fan roots for his team to lose and no genuine fan wastes time posting regularly on a rival team's Internet message board.

And despite my pre-halftime comments about the 49ers-Rams game, the 9ers FOUGHT ALL THE WAY TO THE END! They probably will end up top five in the draft if not #1, and THEY ARE ALREADY ON THE RIGHT TRACK! Da Jete are going to suck this entire season, then are going to have to find a new coach that can build a winning culture and a new GM that can find players that want to win instead of having the right body types. Jete, SMH...

I know I might get destroyed for this comment, but I am making it anyway:

The Patriots have defeated the Jets so thoroughly that I can't even bring myself to hate them anymore. They lost. It's over. We have the greatest franchise in the history of the sport. They are a national joke. They refused Belichick full team control and he left. Their biggest highlight in the last decade was the Butt Fumble. Their last big accomplishment was beating the Patriots in a playoff game, but they lost the next round. Yet things have only gone way downhill from there.

If the Jets somehow managed to beat the Pats again to would be their superbowl. Yet they could not even enjoy it without worrying about losing their only ticket out of the swamps of defeat. Would Jets fans actually think beating the Patriots in one game is worth losing the overall pick? Not sure, either choice is pathetic.

At this point they are like the jealous little sibling who never quite did so well in school. They might hate us, but we can afford to simply pity them.

I am not even that mad about the Jets' role in spy-gate anymore. Eric Mangini reported the Patriots about their camera placement. He had no idea the NFL was going to go full buffoon and make it into a big deal. Goodell, and the jealous owners he represents, are the ones to blame here.

JetFan79 wants to shoot the sht with us while we root for/against the Jets during their suck campaign. I am all for it. I hope they put in Hackenberg before too long. His preseason tape is incredibad.

This is EXACTLY the kind of laissez faire attitude we must guard against. "The Jete are down, not worth our trouble to hate, let's just yuck it up with their fans," etc. No, my friend. KickMe2018 is a nasty slimeball troll in sheep's clothing (he already has proven this) making nicey nice to fool folks like you. When in doubt, go back and re-read this thread's OP. WE MUST REMAIN VIGILANT AGAINST THE GREEN PESTILENCE!

@Gymrat is the Jets GM?

Well, thank you for your service against the gang green horde. I am sorry that I have become so complacent in our total victory that I have forgotten we are still at war. The sorry excuse for a fight that the Jets have put up recently has made it hard to tell.

... is what he says, after the fact.

Of course as a former protege of BB he could have been a man and just given him a call and said "I know what you're doing and if the taping happens in my stadium I'm gonna call the NFL" and the man might be on the sidelines somewhere right now instead of pulling pud in whatever shyte hole he's currently in.

He ratted, and now he's got that rat label stuck right on him. He deserves our disdain if not hatred.

And make no mistake JeteFan69 would have no problem stabbing the Pats in the back if could ever find a way to do so. It's the Jete Way.

Hi Batman79!

More good news! Woody's goofy brother says Blowes and Cromagnon likely to stay regardless of record!

Link: Bowles, Maccagnan future not tied to Jets' record

With more losses likely coming, the jobs of coach Todd Bowels and general manager Mike Maccagnan could come under fire in New York after just three seasons together. Johnson said that win-loss record wouldn't be the deciding factor on whether he would make changes down the road.

"Believe me, I like winning a lot more than losses, but that's only part of the equation. The real way to judge this team and the people on it, including me, is are we getting better?" he said. "It's not going to come down to games. It's more about the play on the field. Are we getting better? Losses hurt deeply. I like wins a lot more. :D But it's not going to be the sole or even a really important way for me to judge Mike and Todd." :D

With a rebuilding roster, it will be tough to judge Bowles, but the progress of young players -- like promising rookie safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye -- could ultimately decide the coach's fate.

"My brother said back early in the spring to not judge the team on wins and losses but (rather) progression and I agree with that," Johnson said. "I think it's going to be obvious to all this team is progressing. :D There are so many young guys who, just because they aren't (big) names, doesn't mean they aren't really talented. :D We have a group of coaches, including Todd, who are really good at building those players up. I think you're going to see a lot of progression. It's going to be obvious." :D

OK, now that's interesting. It sounds as though he's done a deal with Bowels and Cro-Magnon: "Tank the season and I won't fire you". Whether the fans will recognize the "progression" is another matter.

And, even if they were going to tank, they should have put more effort into rebuilding to prepare for a new QB.

But once you're a Jete you're a Jete all the way ...
