I find it so strange to go into a game with 3 receivers. Limits your offense so much, can't run any 4WR sets on certain passing downs. I can't imagine any of the TEs being inactive this week. Hollister has to play. He's more like a big WR anyway.

I think Cooks gets it going vs his old mates. He needs to get rolling to pick up the slack of injured...

And the Colts just signed Devin Lucien today, too. I really thought we'd sign him, but it looks like Ayers is the guy, and I gotta think he'll get a spot on the active roster since the alternative is playing with 3 active WRs.

It'll be interesting to see what the Pats do. If they don't add Ayers to the active roster, I'm guessing we'll be seeing a lot of 2TE and 2RB formations, with a lot of Gronk split out wide and Burkhead/Lewis/White in the slot.

Man, it'll be huge if we can get Mitchell back around midseason.

Colts signed Lucien previously and just put him on PS-injured list. We might learn about Ayers tomorrow if reporters tell us if he travelled. I am pulling for him.

Until Mitchell proves otherwise for a decent stretch of time, he shouldn't be counted on to ever be healthy, and he should be considered as "needs replacing".

Agree 100% People can disagree all they want, but his knee will stop him from ever being a star in this league.

We should aha one receiver between Mitchell and Dorsett.

Question for you anyone else.

Would you consider playing with an extra Oline guy or a 3rd TE given the speed the Patriots have on offense?

Not sure if it's a good idea or not. But thinking of giving Brady more time in the pocket although I 've read that that can backfire.

I've never been in the Pats locker room. But if the rumors are true, then they likely got their asses kicked all week. Hopefully this is just a product of focus and concentration

Fleming is usually our 6th OL. He's injured. I don't think that Solder did an especially good job last week in this role.

Not sure pass protection will be a major concern vs NO. Brady had plenty of time in the pocket vs a better D.

Against a 3 man rush though.

But you're right. NO may do the same.

Although they don't have the secondary KC has and may need to try to get pressure on Brady by rushing more.

My thoughts are all over the place.

Going to watch some if the Saints game to see what they ran against Minnesota.

He's been targeted 8 times in his career, with 1 reception. IIRC, he's had maybe 2-3 drops, a few other overthrows, and a few more that were well-covered, but no INTs

Matt Slater Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com

Even the one he caught was a little too far for him. That or he mis-timed it. Either is likely since it's Slater. He had his man beat, and it was a touchdown. But he had to dive for it and fell to the ground. Happened in one of the earlier drives against Miami in 2011.
