Ultimately it doesn't matter though. For all we know Sam may need to stick around another year or two to develop. The point is to grab the best QB out of what's supposed to potentially be 4-6 top notch college QBs this year. We won't know who that is for like 5 months.

Why do you assume Cro-Magnon and Toilet Bowles actually WANT a quarterback in the next draft? Maybe they covet another safety, a long-snapper or punter. The ghosts of failed first-round QBs Pennington and Sanchez say hi.

Hey the long snapper is one of the few positions on the team that is over 30 years old. Maybe Macc will want to get younger there too next year. Why risk some other team taking a stud snapper?

Jets get the #1 pick in 2018, but Darnold and Rosen decide to stay in school another year.
