Well he was just found not guilty of the double murder. Doesn't that throw out this case? I'm honestly asking.

What? He's already been CONVICTED of killing Lloyd and SENTENCED for it. Being found not guilty of killing the other two doesn't suddenly mean he didn't kill Lloyd. Put down that ganja pipe, boy.

His lawyer is already making news about trying to over turn the first conviction. The premise for killing Lloyd was supposedly to cover up these murders, now that he has been acquitted, he may be able to win some appeal and get a new trail.

The gun charges are always there I guess, but I believe if he had lived in almost any other state in the country, he wouldn't have been doing anything wrong.

Hernandez was riding shotgun in a vehicle, and either he or the driver (Bradley, the prosecution's sole witness) shot these two men. At the absolute minimum, Hernandez could have been nailed with accessory charges pretty easily; at the most, he's the one who actually committed the murder.

There's plenty of reason to fear Lloyd's possible testimony even if Hernandez wasn't the shooter.

Nor does being found not guilty of first degree murder in this case mean he wasn't involved. His general involvement wasn't in question, it really just came down to whether the prosecution could prove beyond a reasonable doubt whether it was Hernandez or Bradley who pulled the trigger. Here the real case was based on the other possible murderer's testimony; the jury clearly didn't find it convincing as evidence that Hernandez was the one who committed murder (in the strict sense of the law, though he was likely the instigator and certainly abetted it).

Had the prosecution tried for a lesser accessory charge, it would have been an open and shut case, but the narrative with Hernandez shooting Bradley to intimidate him as a potential witness, coupled with the Lloyd murder, to say nothing of the fact that the prosecution had basically nothing to lose and glory to gain by failing to make the charges stick since Hernandez is already serving life without parole, led them to go for the home run.

In the Lloyd case, the evidence wouldn't have been much more damning that Hernandez committed murder if he had yelled that he pulled the trigger in the courtroom.

I didn't follow the Lloyd case very closely, so I'm not familiar with the evidence presented. But, if the conviction rested primarily on Hernandez' "motive" for killing Lloyd as a means to cover up his murder of these two men, then his Innocence in those two cases would probably represent sufficient grounds to overturn the conviction and order a retrial.

They were unable to use this case as a motivation for the Lloyd killing as he hadn't been convicted. Therefore they just painted as AH being pissed off Lloyd was speaking to some homies AH didn't like...this case will therefore have zero affect on his conviction..

Prosecutors didn't charge him with accessory to murder, which is why he wasn't convicted of it. If they had filed those charges, instead of first degree murder, they would have easily gotten the conviction.

Great atty's are worth their weight in gold, the first thing I thought of was using what money he has left to defend himself on the Lloyd appeal may jeopardize the financial future of his daughter.. high risk and not sure about the reward on that one, as there was quite a bit of evidence in that case...

Baez did a great job of placing doubt in the heads of this jury which is his job..

Just because he says he can try to get a retrial on the Odin Lloyd case, does not mean he will get the retrial.. and does not mean he will win. We also do not know if the Commonwealth has gathered more evidence on the Lloyd case that can be introduced if there is a retrial.. there are a lot of variables, and a very difficult, expensive, road ahead for Hernandez...
