OT: McFarland out for year?

Here's how the play went:

-Wayne goes towards the left corner of the endzone, as Hobbs follows with his back to the play.

-Wayne turns around as the ball is in the air. Hobbs slows down but is still a few feet away.

-Wayne leaps up to catch the ball. Hobbs also begins to leap, his back to the play the entire time.

-The pass comes in and hits Hobbs' left arm and falls to the ground. Hobbs' chest runs into Wayne's well after the ball was dead.

-A flag flies and the Pats are penalized 18 yards. The Colts go from what should have been a 3rd and 7 on the 19 to a 1st and Goal on the 1. Klecko rumbles into the endzone on the next play to tie it.

The most contact Hobbs ever made with Wayne before the ball hit him was a quick, harmless tap to Wayne's left arm before either of them had begun to jump.

Reading the last page of this thread has burned my hatred for everything dolts even farther into the blackest corner of my soul.

There is no bigger quartet of a-holes in the NFL, if not in all NA pro sports, than Irsay - naPolian - dungheap - payaton. Their lying, cheating, stealing, bullying and whining boil my blood and put thoughts of bad intentions in my brain.

I wish that there were a god, so that those 4, and all their ignorant, hayseed fanboys could burn in hell together, for all eternity. Amen.

Enough. Stop trying to blindly defend your team even when you know it's making you look like an absolute fool. Show some class and admit the call was wrong. Most Colts fans did just that when Hobbs was called and when there was no defensive pass interference when Caldwell was pulled down in the endzone. They cited it as payback for no penalty on the Wayne play, but that was crap too - Wayne tripped over his own feet.

Here's how the NFL tried to defend their refs:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/showthread.php?t=49773

1/26: Vic Ketchman, citing a league source, says that face guarding is not a penalty (as we all know) and Hobbs shouldn't have been penalized.

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/showthread.php?t=49880

1/28: Aiello says that faceguarding is not a penalty, but Hobbs did make contact with Wayne, defending the integrity of their refs.

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/showthread.php?t=57854

7/27: We first learn of the NFL's secret apology to Hobbs, only through his mouth only.

Bitter Much??

Okay I guess I'll count you as against the idea of a friendly rivalry.

Dont know your facts much. Typical colts fan  6 million people in the state of Indy, and like 1000 show up (the biggest tuen out ever) to the "world champion colts" preseason camp. Terrible fan base

Didint like 300 people go to the parade, lol. Those 300 are prob the only colts fans who actually know about football. The other 60 thousand that show up at games are your typical bandwagon hacks.

I never claimed to know "all" facts like your somehow saying, nor was I in the arguments a few pages back. All I know is a see lots of whining from the lots of Pat Fans, I guess this is your time for doing it but don't come whining about one call in the AFCCG and get defensive when we come back with all of the b.s. calls the Pats have recieved in their run

By the way, the Colts are one of the top 3 most popular teams in the league, this is coming from one of the smallest markets out of all the other cities in the NFL. And I think they've been invlolved in something like 2 or 3 out of the the 5 highest rated NFL games in the last 10 years. Not bad eh?

Another day begins with plenty of colts envy in the air

And how many showed up to their parade again?

Yes, I believe that was 40,000.

The Steelers like to brag about their parade, but only 250,000 attended that.

How many were at the Patriots parade, you ask?

XXXVI in 2002 had about 1,000,000.

XXXVIII in 2004 had about 1,500,000.

XXXIX in 2005 had about 1,000,000 (The City Hall rally was scrapped)

So, to recap:

Could you please list all the significant "b.s. calls" the Patriots have gotten in their favor during their 'run'? And, before you begin, the tuck rule call was clearly not "b.s.". Patriots fans can point to multiple blown pass interference calls in the losses to Denver and Indianapolis. What are the equivalent calls that went their way?

You fail to mention that the Colts parade was in negative 6 degree whether. Fairly convienant for you

Real dedicated fans out there, eh?

And I stood on the side of Tremont St. for 4 hours in 2004. And it certainly wasn't warm.

Dungy is to moral? I thought he spent his spare time gay bashing? Must make you sad he does that, ha! As for "cheating" LOL. Typical colts fans excuse as to why they could not win a sb until they lucked one of last year. Everyone knows it was luck. Inside they all know

Btw the tuck rule was used many times in 2001 and once against the pats when they played the jets. That rule was created years before, not on the spot.

The world according to Danny again, huh? So Dungy saying he does not support gay marriage is gay bashing? Good one. As long as you are saying the tuck rule was not made on the spot, neither was defensive contact.

Once again, don't let the facts get in the way of your arguement. That Monday opening day total of 1700 was surpased a few days later by the weekend days when nearly 3500 people filled a stadium that holds just over 2500. Not every hold camp in the stadium that they play their regular season games in.

BTW, there is no exact number on the turn out for the parade. They finished at the dome where they limited the turn out to about 50,000 since they had a stage that block one end. They had been turning people away for a couple hours once they filled up, so they would have been a lot more if there would have been space.

There were a couple different factors with the Colts parade. First, it was cold as crap. The high was in the single digits and the parade was right when it got dark. Second, the parade wasn't days after they won. It was the day after the Super Bowl. Their plane landed and the parade was 2 or 3 hours later. It wasn't like most parades where people have a couple days to plan on going.

The Pats parades were on Tuesday mornings.

And just to remind you, I don't think there were too many empty seats on that 3 degree Titans/Pats game in January 2004. Of course, out in Dome Land, you wouldn't be able to even experience anything like that.

And keep in mind there was also a few-mile long parade even before the mob at City Hall:

Is their really a need to argue about which team has better fans? Can't we all just agree that the Raiders suck no matter what their record might be, and move forward knowing we all share that vital common ground?:)

It was freezing in Boston for all the parades.Everyone had school/work on that day. They where early in the morning. Boston is much more conjested. The traffic is 500 times worse. You know how many people stood in the rain for the Sox when they won it all?

Nuff said.

It is not even close. The colts may be a good football team, but a lot of there fans are terrible supporters of the team.

The world according to reality. Dungy is a gay basher. He is in a position in which people look up to him. Instead of preaching tolerance, he is preaching hatred. What would Dungy say if a rival coach said black peoplewere immoral, and the hip hop lifestyle was bad. How do you think all the gay indy fans felt by his comments?! God knows there are alot of them! I bet they are very hurt by ol coach's comments!

Big deal!! Those numbers are a total joke. There are 6 million people in the state of Indiana / city of Indycrapolis plus the colts "fans" all over the midwest. I have never seen less support for a winning team.

Sounds like excuses to me. Typical. But, but, but... A, b , c ,d, e caused 1, 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 so THAT is the reason the colts had less fans at the sb parade. Not!! (rolls eyes) Bottom line, the total number of fans was tiny.... Oh brother.

I remember standing with a million other people freezing my ass off, in the middle of a traffic snarled, major city, early on a tuesday morning. Spin it any way you like. There is a reason manning wishes he had fans like NE ones.

This will go down as the biggest loss for the Colts this season. Not Rhodes, June, or Glenn.

The Colts are NOT one of the top 3 most popular teams in the league. At least from a merchandise standpoint.

Also, I think its friggin hilarious that you say Pats fans are WHINING when we talk about FACTUAL information, yet, when you're told how your owner and GM talk to the refs prior to a game to MAKE SURE certain things are followed, its not whining. Or when your GM and OWNER use the rules committee to push a point, its not WHINING.

You can't have it both ways. Its fact that the pass interference rule specifically talks about contact and how that contact has to interfere with the receivers ability to catch the ball. The contact, if there was any, was so incidental and in no way interferred with Wayne's ability to make the catch because the ball was underthrown and hit Hobbs in the back of his arm.

Patriots
Cowboys
Eagles
Jets
Giants
Steelers
Broncos
Redskins

I'd put all of those teams ahead of Indianapolis in terms of popularity.
