I think we can probably take WR of the draft needs list (unless they don't like Boyce). Even if you don't include Boyce and Thompkins, we're still only looking at a #4 WR as a need. UDFA only I suspect now.

I'm not willing to pin my hopes on a 32 year old Vince Wilfork (recovering from Achilles Tendon surgery no less) and a 33 year old Tommy Kelly to play at a high level forever. As seen this season, Sopoaga and Vellano are not the answer to shore up the New England Patriots rush defense. A proactive approach is necessitated to provide the necessary depth at the defensive tackle position going forward.

Now that the defensive backfield has been addressed it's time to draft DT, I'm hoping for two in the first four rounds.

Part of me agrees and then part thinks well two of the top three are slot guys and the outside receiver just had foot surgery. I think we can at least say it take a top three rounds receiver off the board. Unless somebody crazy is available.

I think at this point TE has to be considered the number one need. A pass rusher a close second. Interior OL and DL next. I'd still take a CB and safety for depth. Some guys like Jimmie Ward, Donte Moncrief, Kyle Fuller....probably aren't going to be early round options any longer.

I now agree. He's about the only wide receiver I could see them drafting before day 3. I'm not a big fan, but I could see BB really liking the potential mismatches he'd create. Don't forget Mark Harrison though.

I just don't think the difference between Nix vs Ellis or Reid is enough to justify using a first round pick on a position that isn't based on being athletic. I can see Hageman or I can see trading down and getting ASJ and then trading up and getting Tuitt.

I think with our free agent signings, tight end is in play with our first pick as is defensive tackle but I'm also wondering if the interior offensive line might be worth looking at as well. Anyone that you might consider with that pick or do you think there is better value in round 2 or 3? (maybe sua-filo, yankey)

They've been my #1 and #2 for months so so can I. Hageman is rare though. I think he'll go much earlier, but if he does fall to us, it'll be hard for BB to pass on that size/athleticism combination. And I agree with you about Nix. Let's just say that it wouldn't surprise me if he was the pick.

I'm not a fan of Sua-Filo in the first but like him better in the second. I'm not sure that Yankey is a great fit for what the Patriots look for. Zach Martin would be an outstanding guard but he'd be a first round pick and our needs are just to big elsewhere to spend a first round pick on a RG. Can't see past Joel Bitonio being an ideal Patriots interior lineman with John Urschel being a good late round option. I'm still not sure where I am when it comes to the OC position. Richburg and Martin have the better tape but Swanson really does feel like a Patriot pick. I'm just not sure how they'll play the interior OL. I have a feeling that Wendell will be back but that's just a hunch.

I agree. I think Hageman has Seymour potential. I can see Bill taking Nix but given his off season moves and free agent visits I think Bill is moving towards and attacking defense thus I think he's devalued the position as well. If VW by some miracle gets his deal re-worked than I'd say between him and Siliga Nix is out.

I have John Urschel as elite type center potential and right now my #1 Center. Would love to have him to control Xs and Os for the rest.

All 3 plays nasty, are leaders and should be draft steals.

No way would I want to select Louis Nix, who underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, in the first round when the following nose tackles will be available:
