And I wouldn't use my top defensive pick on a DB, at least not right now, until the secondary picture becomes clearure. JMHO.
Sorry, my bad.

I see a lot of mocks projecting USC players to the Pats, but, for some reason, BB doesn't seem to put much faith in them (see: USC Linebackerpalooza, 2009). Don't know why that is, though.
Darnell Dockett is with Arizona and signed long term. I presume you mean Glenn Dorsey, who would do do much better as a pass rushing DT in a 4-3 than in a 3-4.
sorry for OT, but isn't this what the pats need? a pocket pentraiting DT next to vince wilfork?
That lb corps of Matthews Jr, Cushing and Malaleuga had more juice in them than an orchard of orange trees.
Questiong for me is, how do we get Percy Harvin from Vikings..
He makes alot of sense here, but what should we pay for him and how? Been thinking Spikes could be a part of it. Both will be out of contracts in 2013. They could use a lb in there rebuilding and we could replace Welker with Percy, also Edelman. Not only could we save some, but we might get a compensation pick in 13. We could move Hightower into the mike lb and use Ninkovich as will olb where he best fit.
Also talked about Glenn Dorsey KC. He could be the DT we looking for. Used in a 3-4 as he is now is hopeless, but in the 4-3 we use next to Vince, i think he could make Geno Atkins type of numbers? Would replace Brace and Pryor.
Why not just wait until free agency for Harvin? Or draft Tavon Austin and save millions? Harvin is the real deal but Austin's game looks pretty similar.
I personally feel that right offensive guard is not the highest priority for the New England Patriots in the 2013 NFL Draft. After Vince Wilfork and Kyle Love, the depth at defensive tackle is suspect with Brandon Deaderick and the oft-injured Myron Pryor. Kyle Love, Brandon Deaderick, Myron Pryor will be unrestricted free agents in calendar year 2014.I prefer option 1 quite considerably. Gabe Jackson was a nice find. I still would rather take Jonathan Cooper in the first but Jackson is one of the better fall backs.
Steven Gregory is no stud against the run either. As for Tony Jefferson, the scouting report reads as follows:I didn't particularly like Jefferson when I first watched him, the games I saw he was fairly weak against the run, but subsequently I've seen some good reports on him in the run game so he's gone up in my personal rankings.
He has loose hips and a balanced center of gravity to quickly change directions and close in a flash on the play. Jefferson isn't considered an elite prospect for the next level, but has top-50 potential because of his natural awareness, defensive motor and football IQ.
Nigel Malone or the best available cornerback in the seventh round.Nigel Malone is a good choice too.
Bill Belichick this past off-season was interested in Red Bryant; Jesse Williams could be the long term replacement for Vince Wilfork.Jesse williams is a really nice player, my only problem is that he's a run-stopper only, albeit an excellent one. Trouble is, we have three run stoppers already as DT's. Still if he's BPA then I'd have no problem with the pick.
Sharrif Floyd has vaulted up to 31st overall in the NFLDraftScout rankings.Option 1 is a very good effort (B for me but only because you don't have any of my preferred choices). I'll give option 2 a C to D because I'm not overly enamoured with Vaccaro and don't think Floyd is first round worthy.
Way too early to guess which positions the New England Patriots will target in the 2013 NFL Draft until after unrestricted free agents have been signed.Hope you don't mind me grading them, don't want to offend someone else's hard work
Why do the New England Patriots need Percy Harvin when the New England Patriots signed undrafted free agent Jeff Demps?Questiong for me is, how do we get Percy Harvin from Vikings.

If the New England Patriots move McCourty to safety, it's a damning indictment how bad Patrick Chung and Steven Gregory are as starting safeties.Nice picks, but not enough defense for me. Based on what evidence to date?Or that McCourty projects to be a very good safety.
Based on what evidence to date?
I somewhat disagree with this premise. The New England Patriots defense is better thru the first eight games of this season without veterans Shaun Ellis, Gerard Warren, Albert Haynesworth, Andre Carter, Mark Anderson, Leigh Bodden. If the master plan is to rebuild the defense, then rebuild the defense via the NFL Draft. With regard to the New England Patriots defensive secondary, the issue is talent not necessarily experience. But I do think BB got a little bit scared two or three years ago by having such a young and inexperienced roster and some evidence can be seen for this in the last two drafts. Firstly, two years ago was a largely offensive draft, last year was a defensive draft. The advantage to this is that you can limit the inexperience to just one side of the ball.
With only five picks in the 2013 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots need to prioritize their selections in relation to the team's weaknesses. If the New England Patriots are able to re-sign right tackle Sebastian Vollmer and wide receiver Wes Welker, the need to select a wide receiver in the 2013 NFL Draft is greatly reduced, especially since the New England Patriots traded a future late round draft pick for wide receiver Greg Salas. And when the time comes for a second offensive draft as this is, the players drafted two years ago have two rather than one years experience. Two consecutive drafts is not a pattern but it's certainly a possible insight into a new draft dynamic for BB. Secondly, BB has turned about face on the value he places on draft picks. Next year could be the third consecutive year we go into a draft short of the standard number of picks (of course that could change). Add in the trading up last year rather than the usual approach of stockpiling picks and I think there's some circumstantial evidence that BB doesn't want to get too young at too many levels of the team. And that is why I went for an offensive draft.
