I'm sure BB has a plan...... He obviously hated his safety position as camp played out. Looks like Barrett and that other little fella, Anquan Bolden are in.

My thinks that someone like Sharper comes in in week two, once vet salaries are not guaranteed. Just for depth. Dowling might be getting some work there too.

Don't cry for Merriweather, some team will pick him up and be disappointed in him too. If not, there is always the porno industry.

Two thoughts:

I'm drawing a blank on his name, the coach that just took over as defensive backs coach this year ... must have seen something he really did not like with Sanders and Meriweather.

Is this an indication the Pats are that pleased with Barrett and/or Brown? An indication that they have already agreed to terms with one of the veteran safetys they brought in for a workout a few days ago? Or both, perhaps?

BTW patsfans is delusional.

Every player we have is an all -pro /really high ceilling/never bust.

When we cut/trade him he is horrible.

Men, he is exactly the same bust than a year before.

WOW.. I am shocked that BB has dumped both Meriweather and Sanders. Ihedigbo and Brown must have played stellar against the Giants to have made it so the Pats felt comfortable with them..

Pats now are truly in need of safety help unless Dowling has lit it up in camp without anyone knowing.. Or.. maybe Bodden is being tried back there..

Dude - You seriously are talking out your arse. They drafted a slew of players after trading down and passing on Clay Matthews.

Meriweather was drafted in the lousy 2007 draft.

One thing I am surprised about is that the Pats couldn't get something, anything, from somebody in a trade for him. I know teams are often hesitant to trade for a guy that is set to be a free agent the following year, but Meriweather's contract ($1.65M) was relatively team-friendly, even if it did turn out to be a one-year rental.

I'm not surprised. I said he'd be cut or traded back in February and certain posters said that Bill loved him.

Bill hated him, he hated the free-lancing.

Stick to the system and you can play.

If Chung, Page and Sanders hadn't got hurt after the Baltimore game, he'd have been sat on his ass while Chung, Sanders and Page played out the rest of the season with a little bit of Sergio Brown.
