There was also something he saw in adalius Thomas to win a bidding war for his services. Didn’t work out at all for us.
Thomas was pretty good for them in 2007 and the first half of 2008. Then he got hurt and it went downhill from there.

Buffalo Bills subtract Gilmore and go from averaging 23.6pts/game to 13.5

NE Patriots add Gilmore and go from #1 in scoring to #31

Hmm. What else did Buffalo subtract?

At the time they let him walk he was consistently not showing up for the playoffs. You can't really blame them for thinking it might be a trend.

He wasn't ther in 2012, but he was there for 2013. What do you mean consistently?

In 2013 he was there until he got taken out by one of the dirtiest hits in Nfl history...that led to the famous bb press conference

The dirtiest hit in NFL history? That seems a touch hysterical. You think it was dirtier than Danny Trevathan's hit on Davonte Adams?

Talib was available for 19 out of 23 regular season games, and about 1 and a quarter out of 6 postseason games. That's not necessarily something you want to throw a fortune at.

I did love how BB lost his sh!t in that press conference (well...for him at least). The hit was dirty but dirtiest ever? A student of the game like BB should know better.

What is the best finish ever for the worst defense in the league?

Has there ever been a worst in the league defense at the quarter mark that developed into a defense that ISN'T one and done in the playoffs?

At this point, this defense couldn't stop a troop of girl scouts. Which is perhaps unfair as girlscouts can be pretty tough.

Words like passive, slow, sluggish, old, broken down come to mind. Not sure how that changes quickly. With 5 or 6 very difficult teams upcoming....i wouldn't blame anyone for being discouraged.

Heck, i taped the game to watch later, but when i heard the pats forced one punt, i'm sorry, can't put myself through that. Torture.

make Gilmore wear a straight jacket so he can't incur anymore hands to the face penalties.

I think that might be what's called lobbying the refs.

Bb has made some questionable gm moves recently...maybe he doesn't have enough time on his hands trying to perform both gm and coaching duties at the same time.

I wonder if he should bring in someone he likes and trusts to help him out with the gm duties, just a suggestion

Somebody like, say, Caserio?

EDIT: After scrolling back, I see that @ctpatsfan77 beat me to it.

"... one of ...", not "The dirtiest ..."

And Trevathan's hit hadn't happened yet at the time BB said that about the hit on Tailb.

Yeah the penalties were ticky tacky. Tough it out. Carolina isn't a good football team. They aren't going to sniff a SB. Yet this D makes Cam look like Montana.

Furthermore, Jeff Fisher as the D coordinator would be a big change.

2011 Pats being within a Welker drop of a SB win is probably the best answer

Fine. One of. It wasn't. I could find you a thousand hits dirtier than that. Going back to Jack Tatum.

So, are you saying that it was a relatively "clean" hit?
