There is no question that Aaron Rodgers is a GREAT NFL QB. And we should all understand that even though QB is the most important position in football, it doesn't remove the fact that in the game of football, an individual player is more impacted by the success of his teammates than any other professional sport. So the fact that Brady has 5 rings shouldn't and Rodgers has just one shouldn't be the ONLY criteria as to who is better
That being said, while Rodgers clearly has more physical skills than Brady. Not even Brady questions that. AND there is no question that Rodgers is tough, hardworking and smart. But while Rodgers has proven to be mentally tough in pressure situations, NO ONE comes close to the mental toughness Tom Brady has shown THROUGHOUT his 18 year career.
We only get to see that kind of monomaniacal mental toughness among the truly great ones. Larry Bird, Micheal Jordan, David Ortiz just to name a few. NONE of these guys were the most gifted athletes of their generations, but only their peers matched their mental toughness in pressure situations
Other aspects of Brady's game that are marketely better than Rodger's is how fast Brady processes the field, and how much better he reads defenses. He also has better footwork and mechanics. That isn't to say Rodgers isn't very good at these things as well, it's just he's not AS good as Brady.
Finally there is the longevity factor. No one has been this consistently good for as long as Brady has. And when you trying to determine who is the better player right now, THAT has to be a factor.
IF someday down the road, Rodgers shows he can be as consistently good AFTER some of his physical skills start to erode as Brady as been able to do the last 3 years, then he MIGHT be able to enter back into the argument of who is the best QB. But that day is about 5 or 6 years down the road and Rodgers has a lot of catching up to do.
