If NE had an excellent draft / FA period, I’d be fine with a Mullens for QB. You won’t win the SB, but there’d be a few moments. And it’d set you up for a real keeper at qb in future drafts.

I agree, Mullens isn't a bad player. Would be nice if Zappe could emerge into a serviceable guy and remove that uncertainty heading into next season, but to your point, I think maybe they're hoping Grier could be a Mullens-esque guy. So far, that hasn't seemed to be the case.
Although, I say this just as he throws into traffic and gets picked.
