I wouldn't trade Mark Sanchez for Matthew Stafford, would you? - TheGangGreen.com Message Board

kinda like this one especially the way it starts off...

"Am I crazy? Stafford looks like he has a strong arm and could be a great QB, plus was taken #1 overall for a reason, but I would not trade Mark Sanchez for him right now. I think Sanchez has a chance to be a great quarterback in the NFL and is showing great signs right now, as is Stafford."

:ugh:
Last week they were ready to crucify him.

It's the jets fan way

The same thing happens here. I just doesn't revolve around the QB as much, given that whole Brady=Awesome thing.

nowhere near as close as jets fans....yes people want ocho killed if he doesn't have a catch after a game..then scream praise when he catches a ball..but not as bad as there

When it comes to this stuff, the only difference between the two groups is that the Jets sites allow more swearing. The Julian Edelman situation is a pretty good example.

"I think Mark has better physical tools than Brees. He's a little taller, has a stronger arm, is much quicker on his feet, throws better on the run (specially when running left), and seems tougher/better at breaking tackles. He is however much less accurate and more inconsistent than Brees at this point".....Chupa

pure gold......

So basically this guy is saying Sanchez blows...but won't suck with 2 randy moss around him with gronk as the TE...i love how everyone makes excuses for this bum
Yeah i guess that about sums it up. Of course even i could play QB at my age if i had to Moss's and a Gronk.

The numbers don't lie. The Jets are relying on Sanchez this season the same way that the Giants relied on Eli in his third season in the NFL and the Packers relied on Favre in his third season in the NFL and The Broncos relied on Elway in his third season in the NFL and the Dolphins relied on Marino in his third season in the NFL and so on and so forth.

The third season is a real ***** for a franchise QB because he's the main focus of the attack and often the pieces around him are wearing down just as he's supposed to be hitting his stride. Sanchez is doing really well given that reality. He hasn't thrown a ton of picks, he has lead some important drives and he's watched his defense give away a couple of games at the end.

If the defense doesn't fold against the Pats in the first game and against the Broncos a couple of weeks ago we're having a totally different conversation about Sanchez at this point and nothing that he actually did would have changed at all.

more gold for you guys

Don Banks summed up the Jets perfectly in his Power Rankings today:

Here's the tricky part about figuring out how this Jekyll and Hyde-like season will end for the Jets: I look at their remaining schedule -- Washington, Kansas City and the Giants at home, with trips to Philly and Miami -- and I don't see a game they can't win. But I also don't see a game they can't lose. Especially if Kyle Orton takes over at quarterback for the Chiefs.

Can Mark Sanchez become Drew Brees? - Page 3 - Jets Insider.com Forums

Got Delusion?

Chupa is one of the bigger Jets homers on JI. He isn't RayRay or SG3 bad, but he is up there.

Here is what one Scouts Inc. analyst had to say about Sanchez' progress towards becoming Drew Brees:

"I think Sanchez has average physical tools, below average recognition skills, below average accuracy. He isn't comfortable throwing outside the numbers. He looks to the middle often. He's just too erratic. ...Not only is his ball placement not that great, he will flat out miss guys. I feel for Santonio Holmes. He's open a lot, and Sanchez will sail one high and throw uncatchable passes. I actually think he's gone backwards this year. I'm not sure the exact reason why. I think his supporting cast is worse than it's been."

"Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?"

LOL! You can't make this s*&t up. From Rich Cimini via Twitter:

A new wrinkle: Every time Sanchez completes a ball in passing drill vs. no defenders, teammates clap three times. No boos here. #Jets

Twitter

Daily Affirmations NY Jets style. Sanchez getting team support whenever he hit a receiver who is ZERO TEAMED. I hear they clap twice if he gets within a yard of the receiver, but does not get a completion.

It is only a matter of time before they go back to red light, green light. Or possibly ring around the rosey or duck, duck, goose. Sanchez is a third year player and they are still doing Pop Warner crap for him. Boy Pete Carroll was right that he wasn't ready for the NFL.

Now he's up there in the Jests pantheon with Kiss Me Suzy!

ESPN tweets "Sanchez: 1st #Jets QB since Joe Namath in 1968 with a 4 TD, sub-50 percent completion rate game"

In a year where the QB position is down, Sanchez continues to be a bottom tier, or at least near bottom tier, QB. He's currently 19th in QB rating, 27th in completion percentage, and 23rd in avg.

He's got a pretty easy schedule down the stretch, so let's see if he can pull his head out of his ass long enough to clearly distance himself from the rest of the turds in the QB toilet this season.
