Patriots Malcolm Mitchell Suffers Arm Injury vs Saints
Winslow Townson - USA TODAY Sports
The Patriots are no strangers to injuries and while the hope was to avoid a repeat of the problems they had in 2015, they suffered a tough loss on Thursday night in their first preseason game against the Saints.
Rookie receiver Malcolm Mitchell suffered what appears to be a serious arm injury in the second quarter, with his arm bending awkwardly as he came down with an 8-yard reception and was immediately rushed by trainers. The rookie was then taken right to the locker room, and replays showed that it definitely didn’t look good.

It’s a tough break for Mitchell, who up to that point was tied for the lead in receptions among Patriots receivers with 4-catches for 55-yards before his injury. Hopefully for his sake it’s not as bad as it looked, but he’ll be a player to keep an eye on at a position that is already pretty thin to begin with at this point in the preseason.
