Part of the problem regarding Free Agency that few want to talk about, is that no matter how much money the team is willing to pay, Free Agents are going to look at Mayo and the rest of this joke of a Coaching Staff and go elsewhere, even if the Patriots want to overpay for them (which they'll have to do anyway until the team proves that its a team going in the right direction. Maye is the real deal (as is Gonzo), but right now, with this Coaching Staff, it probably won't be enough to attract quality FA's, let alone young ones (including Defensive FA's).
No free agent who is any good is going to risk their career reputation, future stats and chance to be on a winning team to go to the worst team in the league.
Not even sure additional $ will make the difference.
At a minimum there needs to be a coach and coordinators the player can believe in.

If Mayo is retained the UFA season is going to be painful.

I would love to see pats take a shot at bringing in Spagnolo as HC. He would be able to attract top tier coordinators and free agents

That's why I'm glad our $$$$$$ are at Wolfe's disposal. IF he pitched for the older Calvin Ridley you can bet he's going all in on the Younger Tee Higgins.
Its Wolf.

Not Wolfe.

sorry. Pet Peeve.

I disagree with all the Tee Higgins not coming here... Money talks.

We can find some guys to sign ultimately it's about money for %90 of the free agents.

But sure we might also have to find some guys not getting paid early on other teams and trade for them in their last year and pay them early.

Also history is littered with players going to bad teams because that's where the money was/is.

It's Drake Maye this time around Sam, not Mac Jones.

Spags might be the WORST HC of ALL-TIME, with a stunning record of 11-41.
Some people aren't cut out for the whole operation.

Q

He’s a possibility. I don’t see him as a #1 either, but a quality 2? Sure. 49ers have to extend Purdy. They got 66 mill in cap space to do so but it will put them up against the cap. Since they felt the need to go all in and pay Aiyuk, it’s gonna leave them in a predicament to pay others.

Personally, Deebo is fine although inconsistent at times. Still better than anything we got, just like Higgins. But the contract is a lot more friendly than what TH will demand. Again, both look like number 1 type receivers at times but if you are looking for that X receiver who can pretty much play in every facet of the offense?

Chase
Lamb
Jefferson
St Brown
Aj Brown

Get lucky and go draft and develop one like Nacua because they don’t come cheap and they don’t grow on trees. They are identified very early on by fans and front offices. Teams will do almost anything to keep them and pay almost anything to get them. Said, player and agent have all the power when it comes to negotiations and what destination and landscape/situation they are going to.

I think Hunter is going to be a great Cb but I think Hunter the Wr has the best shot to be that X do it all receiver we’ve been looking for. He may not be the top rated Wr in the draft but for someone who has split his time at two high profile positions, 96 1258 and 15 TD’s? Whatever he does, he makes it look effortless.

I like this option much better than Higgins, and Deebo’s contract will expire as they are hopefully turning into real contenders, opening up a big chunk of $ to pay a true #1. And if they can get a trade for #1 it will give them two 1st round picks In the next draft, which would give them the draft capitol to get the best player in the 26’ draft that isn’t a QB, or 2 top prospects.

I think I'd pass on Deebo based on some of his antics this year. One of the few things I'll give Mayo some level of credit for this year is that while there's been some grievances aired publicly amidst a pretty miserable season, I'd say that overall this hasn't become a toxic environment yet. Look at how Deebo's reacted at times to a bad year in SF. Next year you have the added variable of him feeling like he's playing for a new contract. Just doesn't seem like something I'd want to take on.

What about Garrett Wilson via trade. There are some rumors about his dissatisfaction in NY.

I don't know what has happened with Deebo. Last few years he was the core of SF's offense. This season he is a shade of himself.

It’s guaranteed money that talks. Cincy is very cash strapped long term, and they are very familiar and aware of his injury history. If you are going to poach him with money, it will be guaranteed money. And that’s the gamble. Is it worth it, I’m really not to confident it is. Guaranteed money can often lead to complacency. Not something you want in a team that’s trying to rebuild. As soon as things continue south, those players often check out. They have nothing to lose by doing so.

I agree about Garrett Wilson. Deebo has dropped off, once that happens it usually continues. Wrong time to buy on Deebo.

I’d be happy with the Pats signing Higgins even for a truck load of money. He’d be the best receiver on the team since Edelman. That said we still need to be ever on the search for a stud receiver in the draft.

Still I’d consider Higgins, Pop, Boutte as a competent group and a hole that’s been plugged adequately.
