As an IU grad...go Ho Ho Ho Hoosiers!

Popping in to say: what's the critical read of Julian Sayin?

Watched a few games here and there as my family are fans of OSU (I went to UC so I am miserably opposed to OSU, withering away in their shadow and drowning in the pool that is our stadium, planted in the middle of our awkward campus), and every time I watched him I saw a QB that could string together drives but almost _always_ got lucky with extremely risky throws.

I wasn't surprised at all when he threw that pick-6. I said before the game "If they lose, it will be in part because Miami has seen how he is not fundamentally sound"

Am I wrong in that, and the pick-6 is me just seeing a nail as a hammer kinda thing? Because on the other side he has a great completion %/rating.
Honestly, he's just not that athletic.
Pocket passers usually do ok still in the pros, but in college, unless you have a dominant offensive line (which Ohio St. at the end of the year did not due to injuries), it can be a disaster.

He's got a pretty good arm, but really struggles with pressure - doesn't realize he needs to step up in the pocket, so every sack is a disaster play.

He just turned 20, if he gets good coaching he could improve quite a bit.

Edit: The pick six, to me, was more a product of ****ty, predictable playcalling rather than execution by the QB.

So teams with a bye are 1-7 the last two years, Will be interesting to see if they change the structure going forward. If it happens again next year, I think there would be an outcry from sponsors and networks....They won't cut it to 8 and give up the bye but what about expanding to 16 teams and eliminating the bye?
They've made the whole thing worse.

Just go to an NFL type format. If a top ranked team loses to a low seed, thems the breaks. It happens in the college basketball tournament all the time.

Bye-bye bye.
