BGC 2025 OL/PTP Thread

Rayshawn Slater 33" arms.
Bernhard Raimann 32 7/8" arms
For Patriots nostalgia, Bruce Armstrong 32 3/4"

For comparison sake.
We also need to recognize that the way they measure their arm length isn't a functional blocking movement. They have the person stand with their arms straight out to the side and the measure from the end of the clavicle to the tip of their middle finger. It Doesn't make sense at all, if a dude has short fingers and someone else has longer fingers that could equate to .5 to 1 inch difference

People get WAY too caught up on arm length, its wingspan IMO thats actually important, and then only if it shows up on tape as an issue. Thats the actual issue with Campbell not some number he is a half of an inch below. Guys do get hands on him and force him off his spot and that will probably only get worse at the next level. Calling him t rex is just lazy

I agree 100 percent about wingspan being important! But in pass rushing, if the pass rushers with longer arms get into Campbell’s chest, then it is game over and the pass rusher wins!!!!
The tape clearly shows that Campbell plays too upright but has excellent feet that never stop moving to compensate!!!!!! Best offensive line feet in the draft!!! Once Campbell gets his hand into the chest of the pass rushers it is game over for the pass rushers.

The question vrabel has to ask himself is can Campbell keep pass rushers from getting into his chest ????

Ps: Campbell is already an upgrade over Lowe

Good analysis. Campbell wins based on footwork, body positioning, tenacity, and smarts. Whether it will carry over to the pro level is a huge question mark.

I would say Simmon's has similar caliber footwork.

If Campbell had a bit more length, and wider base, and not that awful upright stance, I'd be on board. But those are big limitations.

My worst nightmare realized.

I hope Campbell succeeds, but not optmistic. IMO the Chiefs got a much better LT @ 32 than the Pats got @ 4.

Yep.

Guards & Special olympics Teamers; Special olympics Teamers & Guards... This ****ing franchise just can't ****ing help itself.

Meet the new boss; same as the Old boss.

For the record, I would've taken Banks at #4; there's no way I would've had the minerals to take Simmons there, even if I did feel that he was the better long-term prospect if fully recovered.

I wasn't sold on Banks, Membou, or anyone other than (a healthy) Simmons at LT.

That is really my only major criticism of the FO: that they boxed themselves into a corner by not signing any FA LT stopgap, in a draft where the near-consensus best pure LT prospect was coming off a major injury, and all the others had question-marks.

Hoping Campbell makes me look like a fool and the FO look like geniuses.
