As a sane fan, I re-read the entire thing that he said. Contextually it makes sense. But when you just take that quote out it looks real bad.
Objectively speaking, what he says might be right, but in current context when you are losing a lot , more humility might be needed. Trying to rationalize it, is probably the root cause of the issue and the fact that he did not acknowledge the problems in a Prelude makes it seem he is skirting responsibilities or ownership like mayo. The same statement issued in beginning of season or 4 months after a losing season might be interpreted differently. Now when all hell is on fire, the sane thing to do would be to zipper up.
