Tavai: “Booing fans should know their place”

The relevant quote: "There's a reason they're fans. Everybody can say what they think we should be doing. They're not qualified to be doing what Mayo is doing or the Krafts are doing or whatever. They're fans. I appreciate them at times, but sometimes they just gotta know their place..."
Tavaii, tell us you're an idiot without saying it. lol
I know my place as supporting the team by personal interest and personal choice, but I will refuse to spend a penny in that regard until they put a decent product on the field. Too many mistakes, too many excuses, not much to root for. Hope they lose today, not watching.

FA and the draft have nothing to with wins and losses?

The new New England Patriots need stud players now more than ever. Before, BB had a system in place where you could plug and play and still keep winning.

Mayo hasn't giving a single indication that even if he had a better roster that he would have a better record.

He's been that bad.

Fairbanks was a great coach.

I hope he makes the HOF.

He would be better recognized as great if he didn’t have to work for the Sullivans.

I believe one of his drafts his first four picks were Mike Haynes, Pete Brock, Tim Fox, and Ike Forte.
Fairbanks didn’t run the draft. Bucko Kilroy did.
Haynes was a great pick. Brock a miss. Fox was decent. Forte was a bust.

If Kraft isn't careful most fan's "place" next season will be sitting in a warm house with a beer and pizza rooting for another team. Rather than hassling with traffic & parking then freezing their butts off while spending a few hundred bucks at Gillette.

No doubt the experience of going to the game is destroyed by losing and especially getting blown out.
My son and I went to probably 30 games between about 2010 and 2016 and I think they may have lost 2 or 3. We live 3 1/2 hours away. If they lost 75% of them I don’t think we would have kept going.

But I have no respect for someone who roots for another team when your team is down.

Been saying it for years, these players do not give two ****s about the fans - some may feign appreciation but when the players go home to do their coke, smoke their weed, smack up their baby mamas, beat the **** out of people at nightclubs...they don't think about us, care about us, one iota....the least they can do is not open mouth insert foot like this ****ing jabroni. Mayo has lost the plot

Thinking about this situation a bit more and Springer's comments.

At the end of the day, we are customers. We pay money to attend the games. We pay to wear apparel and use products which has the team's logo, etc.

In 2025, I have done both. I attended a game with my daughter and purchased Patriots items licensed by the team.

As a consumer of any company or product, I demand to be respected and appreciated by the company in which I purchase products and services from.

Now, does my financial investment/decision give me the right to complain/question/criticize the vendor for poor product quality? An unpleasant buying experience.......?

Thats what bonehead Tavai doesn't understand. We are paying customers. That gives us a voice to provide feedback to our vendor their product is not good.

I don't get the vitriol for Mayo. He's a rookie HC with rookie coaches who inherited a **** roster. He's also working for what appears to be dysfunctional ownership.

All I'm saying is give Mayo a chance. He's still learning.
I’m interested in how long you think he should get? I ask because he’s not a good coach, he even said he’s learning. Next year he goes from sucking to bad, then the year after is average. How long do we wait for him to become a really good coach?

Loud all the time I would say. As fans that’s our “job”. Fully understand the boos as I would be one booing. Not saying they shouldn’t be booing or agree with dude at all. Just something I’ve noticed over the years is foxboro tends to be quiet for whatever reason a lot of the time and never understood why. Especially when compared to other places…
Back in the glory days I would go to work after a home game and people that watched on TV would say it sure did seem quiet there yesterday, yet I had no voice from screaming all game. Gillette was always louder than it seemed on TV. The stadium was so poorly designed when it came to sound and keeping it inside the stadium, the stands fade away from the the field the further they go up, each end is wide open. Now the last several years it’s gotten really quiet, young people who haven’t been going long are only concerned with getting their pictures taken with their backs to the field.

I predict the starting offensive lineup will be introduced tomorrow to save Tavai and Godchaux from being booed.

The vitriol should be directed at Kraft for hiring someone not qualified and putting Mayo in a position of having to learn on the job.
The fan base rightly wants the egregious hiring decision corrected.

Mayo is a good person but the team has regressed and is undisciplined on and off the field and seems to avoid accountability

I’ll offer my perspective as a ST holder. I love going to the games, it’s such a nice break from what I do day to day the rest of the week and year. It’s expensive but I budget for it. I do it because it’s fun. When it isn’t fun I don’t go, as I will not tomorrow. In part this is due to the fact that I have two seats and don’t enjoy going by myself. I used to go with my son but he moved away. I have a harder and harder time getting friends to join me when the team sucks.

I do not feel entitled to a championship or playoffs every year. I accept that there will be down years as there were many times in the past when I had my tickets in Schaefer/Sullivan/Foxboro Stadium. What I expect in return from the Krafts is a safe and relatively hassle free experience, and that the team is managed in a way that allows them to compete. I also expect gratitude from them and the people in their organization, and to not be told to sit down and shut up and enjoy whatever they give us because I am unqualified and otherwise inferior to them.
Well said. I’ve also had season tickets in Schaefer/Sullivan/Foxboro Stadium and Gillette. I always wondered if I could continue going down there if they ever got bad for multiple years, well so far still going down to the games, the problem is we have so much fun tailgating for 4.5 to 5 hours, normally at a minimum we have 12 people, sometimes 30 people. Tomorrow will be a large crowd, it normally is for Buffalo, we have a few fans from Buffalo who come down every year who we met when we went to a game there 20 years ago. The atmosphere in the game is bad, I think so many people sell their tickets and people come down just to come down thinking it’s still the thing to do.

All my years going down I do not spend money inside the games, yes it is too expensive but I eat and drink enough before the game and I have to eat after. I can never understand the people who go back and forth to the concession stand buying beer and food, they must spend 150 dollars inside a game. I always wonder did they not tailgate.

People should just make signs of the meme with The Rock on it

Is this the type of “team culture” we want to keep?

Tavai who has been average at best needs to know HIS place. And the season ticket holders, fans who go to individual games and all of the people that frequent Patriots Place and spend millions on Patriots merchandise PAY for his salary. The product this year has sucked ***….not pulling any punches….part coaching…..part on players not taking any leadership responsibility and mailing it in…..He needs to shut the pie hole…..
