Tavai: “Booing fans should know their place”

He's right but publicly complaining that fans should act like civil human beings towards players and coaches is a losing battle. It's normalized for people to turn the part of their brains off that makes them not act like a rude POS when they're dealing with professional athletes. It isn't going to change for this Tavai or anyone on this team and he'll only make it worse by complaining about it like this.
I don’t think he’s right on this ….he, the team, and the coaches should own the boos ….Hopefully he is gone after this year….if not do better or get CUT under a better coach

This team becomes more unlikeable by the ****ing day...Mayo has empowered these ****ing idiots to speak "their truth"....they can go **** themselves for the most part...or go off and have cocaine and hooker party with Jabril Peppers or a happy ending massage with Krafty Bob
Well said …Tavai is an entitled average Jackass….

Apparently the new HC wants to allow his players to speak up. Well, he got what he wanted from Tavai... twice. What makes is worse is that Tavai blows.

Any ideas on a sign for the game?
TAVAI: KNOW YOUR PLACE!

Thinking about this situation a bit more and Springer's comments.

At the end of the day, we are customers. We pay money to attend the games. We pay to wear apparel and use products which has the team's logo, etc.

In 2025, I have done both. I attended a game with my daughter and purchased Patriots items licensed by the team.

As a consumer of any company or product, I demand to be respected and appreciated by the company in which I purchase products and services from.

Now, does my financial investment/decision give me the right to complain/question/criticize the vendor for poor product quality? An unpleasant buying experience.......?

Thats what bonehead Tavai doesn't understand. We are paying customers. That gives us a voice to provide feedback to our vendor their product is not good.
Honestly, I doubt Tavai gives a ****. he is going to get paid regardless of fan interest and in a couple of years he will move on and not look back.

It's Kraft who should care when one of his players disparages the fan base so blatantly.

I don't get the vitriol for Mayo. He's a rookie HC with rookie coaches who inherited a **** roster. He's also working for what appears to be dysfunctional ownership.

All I'm saying is give Mayo a chance. He's still learning.
But he’s not learning. He’s still doing the same ****ty job as he was months ago.
To me, your second post answers the question of why people are down on Mayo. Most fans like Mayo the player and were hopeful to start the year. I would be more confident that Mayo has what it takes to be an NFL coach if it was clear that he is learning from his mistakes and the team was competitive in games, even if the record was the same. Instead the team is playing worse than it was game 1, most players have regressed and the coach continues to act like everything is out of his control, including holding players accountable.
Exactly. Since the start of the season the team has regressed, the coach has not progressed, and things have generally gone from bad to worse. There is no evidence that the head coach has learned anything.

I have no doubt that know your place is going to be a pretty permit chance tomorrow.

I’m interested in how long you think he should get? I ask because he’s not a good coach, he even said he’s learning. Next year he goes from sucking to bad, then the year after is average. How long do we wait for him to become a really good coach?
Probably as long as the time Zappe will take to become a good QB

But you didn’t heard? He will be better in year 2 by his own account.

What a jack*ss

Tavai I will put you under a microscope in today's game against bills backups you better shine

Agree. He should but doesn't care. Just as I couldnt care less about him. Kraft should care deeply.

He's losing my financial interest and making me trend towards indifferent. That's not good.

Maybe instead of defending Mayo, JAGs like Tavai should defend against the other team i.e. do their job on the field, not shoot their mouths off to the media.
What's so crazy is that the Krafts have said nothing to stop the drama.

The "culture" Mayo has created around this team at Kraft's behest is undisciplined and downright toxic to the point of actively alienating the fan base. I saw it from the introductory press conference. Too much emphasis on race with Mayo blathering about "building character in young men and young women" -- practically nothing about building a freaking FOOTBALL TEAM. It's a loose ship on the verge of sinking. Kraft has sorely misjudged things, foremost the fans. We don't want a damn social justice warrior, just a head coach with command of the situation who knows what the hell he's doing.

So Mayo calls him into his office. I wonder what he said since Tavai basically doubled down on his comments.
Most likely it was probably the Patriots PR people that intervened. As Tavai is contracted to do those interviews each week during the season. As I've said they are 3-13 if they were 13-3 none of this would be. Losing pisses off us the fans and players get pissed off because they got booed on thier home field.

This is where I was severely let down this year.

Mayo letting the defense fall apart may be the biggest mark against him through all of this.

Let's hope this comes to fruition. I've been in on this since last season. Imagine him across from gonzo.
