Spagnuoulo: Pats cheated in SB XXXIX

I love it! Embrace it all. The Patriots cheated on every way imaginable in every game they ever played. Those banners sure look nice hanging from Gillette Stadium . I hope we triple cheat on Sunday.... bugging locker rooms, drones, stolen radio signals, deflated footballs, everything. We need to start a thread coming up with creative ways to cheat in a way where it will maximize excuses and illegitimacy.

Agree 100%. People say Philly deserves an Eagles win but they don't. Eagles fans are a bunch of degenerate low lifes.

Most overrated fanbase in the league. Extremely parochial, know nothing outside of the Eagles. Like to pretend that they're cold, hardened cynics, but actually the most gullible, "maybe-next-year/TRUST THE PROCESS" fans on the planet.

They, more than any other fanbase, abuse the pronoun "WE" when referring to local teams. They, more than any other fanbase, have "that guy" who applies the logic of his high school team to the Eagles' problems and thinks its a sound solution--I remember when someone insisted to me that McNabb should be a running back, not a QB. This was in 2003, during the underrated stretch of Reid/McNabb teams that the entire city denigrated and took for granted. Booing McNabb at draft day (BECAUSE THEY WANTED RICKY WILLIAMS!!) was a disgrace. Ultimately, the Philly fan is under the delusion that the team works for HIM, as if it is the burden of all local sports franchises to exorcise the failures of him and his wretched city. I don't even think Cleveland has that kind of persecution complex--or at least, in the case of Cleveland, it's kind of understandable.

The Philly fan likes to act indignant when sane people accuses him of being barbaric--but deep down he loves it--they love it, and they wish it were more true than it really is. The real truth is that Philly is just a sad, depressed town desperate to relive the Eagles' glory years--except there were none. Nostalgia with no destination: Philadelphia.

Sorry. Sports talk here had me fuming needed to vent.

If you're not cheating, you're not trying...

Do you know where that comes from? I do. It was the team motto for the Raiders of the 70's and they wore it proudly. I remember seeing one of the top ten shows about the Raiders and George Atkinson was bragging about it.

Tale of the tapes: NFL says Dolphins did no wrong

Dolphins did no wrong.

The incident spawned considerable attention on Tuesday after some Dolphins players suggested to the Palm Beach (Fla.) Post that the team "purchased" tapes of the New England offense that provided audio of quarterback Tom Brady making audible and line-blocking calls.

It's only cheating if you're the Patriots.

Let's see Steve McNair puking all over himself

Worse clock management in a Superbowl by the Eagles

Conclusion; the Patriots knew the plays

Of course they know the plays, they study the film and their tendencies, add Ernie Adams..Bingo

Unlike the great TB12, #5 was not ready for prime time as a sharted himself in the final 2 minutes of the game.

Their quarterback cheated the city of knuckle draggers out of that championship.

I actually did not lol..

I heard it rome say it...but he obviously wasn't the first

Then why bring it up now - only one reason.

Exactly. I am not sure that guy or his childhood buddy there realize this interview was JUST done the other day.

it's this constant nudging of the idea that somehow, some way NE did something different than what another team tries to do.

The difference is, BB and Adams, even Brady, have great recall and photographic memories, so all the material is not only retained more, it's quickly processed.

People who don't have this skill cannot relate to it. I am not saying they're Rain Man here, but it;s not far off.

I bet Adams, BB and Brady are great at poker.

Funny cause damn near 25% of their team popped hot for roids the following season

And their GM, Marty Hurney, is a loser. When you think you're better than you are and you are not even successful, those kinds of people are very annoying in general.

It's a piddly half-baked franchise with cheesy uniforms and a cheesy logo with pathetic fans.

Their GM at the time (who is now back as Carolina's interim/current GM) believes they did: Report: Panthers were convinced Patriots taped Super Bowl practices

Brad Hoover, a fullback on the 2003 SB team, believes the same thing: Panthers Brad Hoover: 'Patriots cheated in Super Bowl XXXVIII'

Like the Eagles, the Panthers provide zero proof, not even a hint of circumstantial evidence, to back up their claims. The other thing that the Panthers have in common with the Eagles is that they lost to the Patriots in the SB. Why concede that you were outplayed and out-coached in the championship game when you can make excuses instead?

It's honestly become very comical at this point that NE is so good at studying gamefilm and seeing patterns, tendencies, etc, better and faster than everyone that they play, that it magically becomes "cheating".

It's so arrogant when people who aren't as good as they think they are, acting all entitled, whine about not being better than they think they are.

I mean, seriously, who is Brad Hoover? Who is Marty Hurney? Where did they come from and what makes them so qualified to talk about NFL success?

I don't even play in the NFL, know little about how teams operate, but I know more than thees idiots.

so... before the game, Patriots spying has their D calls.

box score play by play: Super Bowl XXXIX - Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots - February 6th, 2005 | Pro-Football-Reference.com

Patriots first possession: 3 and out
Patriots second possession: 3 and out
Patriots third possession: 3 and out
Patriots fourth possession: 3 and out

conclusion: the Patriots SUCK at spying.

They do, however, make great halftime adjustments!

Exactly. If the Pats had stolen signals why are they barely winning these SBs in close games?

They've never even scored a TD in the 1st qtr in a SB before!

More Patriots derangement syndrome, this time from the Rams but not Kurt Warner. Orlando Pace.

Orlando Pace still bitter about the Patriots, 16 years later

The latest is Hall of Fame left tackle Orlando Pace, who said this morning on PFT Live that he still doesn’t like the Patriots and still wonders if their superb game plan was aided by cheating.

“There’s a little bit of suspicion there. I think guys all feel that way,” Pace said. “They had a pretty solid game plan for us, so I don’t know. . . . They knew exactly what we were going to do down there.”

Maybe they knew exactly what you were going to do down there because your head coach was so pig-headed, he didn't make any adjustments until the 4th quarter.

I am in Charlotte from time to time. To answer your question, yes many I've met do.

The South has a Civil War hangover with regards to a LOT of things, and cannot stand being second fiddle to almost everything that orginated in the North, which let's face it, every pro sport did.

Keep in mind that city voted in a guy who made bathroom use and who was in it, a top priority.

lmao

Bout sums it up.

I can't believe people are still talking about this garbage..

Oh wait, the Pats are in the Superbowl, AGAIN, so of course this is the conversation..

Sports fans and media in this country are a FKN joke, myself included.
