What kind of an agent are you when you are busy playing hockey in the free agency period instead of trying to find the player you represent a new team to play for.
So you know the conversation between the player and the agent prior to the commencement of unrestricted free agency with regard to the overall contract strategy?

Yes....................

Adam Schefter:

CB Brandon Browner is visiting Washington today, then plans to visit N.O. while his agent Peter Schaffer talks with New England and Oakland.

MAN! Wassup I thought i'd wake up to news of Browner signing and Presser for him & Revis today. Hopefully his agent is done playin hockey and didn't catch a puck to his head ( after signing is ok) before inking contract.
LOCK IT UP!

What's the holdup? Is he signed or not?

He's not signed.

According to Schefter, Browner is going to visit Washington today and New Orleans soon, while his agent continues negotiating with New England and Oakland.

But, just as a reminder, Schefter did quote a Patriots source last night who said Browner wants to be here, though it's tricky because of the suspension, etc.

His agent sounds like an ass

Really hoping this gets done by the end of the day. Browner is that physical presence we've needed in the back end. Let McCourty use his range and let Browner roam either in the backfield or near the LOS and just light people up. The Pats need to come to terms with him.

I think ultimately he will be here...probably visiting other teams as leverage.

we would have a pretty strong secondary though with Browner

Revis/Dennard as the top two corners with Logan Ryan/Arrington for the slot. and Mccourty/Browner as the safetys

now get woodyard and draft/sign a DT to replace wilfork and we may have a top 5 defense?!

I think it is semantics unless Washington blows Bronwer and his agent out of the water with a deal. It sounds like the only thing stopping Browner from coming to the Pats is a deal from another team that is too good to pass up. With Washington, you never know.

If it does happen, I hope the football gods schedule four of the worst offenses we will face in the first four weeks.

Gotta add a DE to the rotation as well. A secondary like that can still get nullified without a consistent pass rush. DT/DE will probably go in the first round.

I disagree. I think TE is going in Round 1 because after the top four TEs (Ebron, Amaro, ASJ, and Niklas), there's a significant drop off. If we pass on TE in Round 1, we'll have to cross our fingers on Niklas falling to us in Round 2.

Meanwhile, we could land D-Line guys later.

A guy I like, for example? Daniel McCullers from Tennessee. He's 6'7, 350 pounds and actually plays with good leverage. Additionally, he's proven he is scheme versatile by playing in the 3-4 and 4-3 the past two seasons and being equally effective as a run-stuffing, multi-man-engulfing blob.

The last point I want to make is that we need a TE not only because Gronkowski is coming off of injury, but because it will make both Brady and our subpar-to-average-at-best WR core immediately and immensely better. I do not think a Louis Nix or Hageman will make our defense that much better relative to 1) how much better one of the top 4 TEs can make our offense better 2) a couple of guys we can land between Rounds 2-5.

We should try to stop him from visiting the saints. Feels like it could be David West spuring the celtics for the pacers at the last second all over again.

He could be the Strong Safety.

Been a disappointment so far, as Tavon Wilson and Harmon Duron, were suppose to be the SS.

Possible that Adrian will be cut....

I'm all for signing a SS. (I don't know enough about him to know if he'd be good in that role).

But I don't think we need to spend any more on CB -- between Ryan and Denard, one of them should step up to fill the #2 role; and the other or Arrington should be fine in the #3 role.

I'd rather we save the money for a good DL or LB; or get back Edelman if the cost isn't crazy.

Aren't the Saints currently OVER the cap?

I'm more concerned about DC Danny and His Crazy Last Place Loserville Wallet Emporium.

I believe the Sproles trade freed up some space, but you'd think they would need that money for their rookies.

Personally, I was OK a few days ago with going into the season with Dennard and Ryan at CB as long as they came up with monster Safety.

First priorities to me were the monster Safety, and the REAL move TE (which was the crux of the problem for the O last year).

The fact that they are in very good position to get those AND have Revis in tow is fantastic.
