Report (Unconfirmed) - Patriots sign Brandon Browner

That might be the most fantastic football gif I've ever seen, other than Wilfork's block on that INT return a few years ago. I dunno how I'd never seen it.

It's good but

is better.

Size. Speed. Attitude.

This is going to be one sad forum if we've been trolled.

I'm almost more excited about Browner than Revis. This guy is what Adrian Wilson was supposed to be, except a natural CB instead of SS.

Based off those GIFs he definitely seems to be a bit undisciplined. Then again I haven't seen a player with his type of ferocity in our secondary in quite a while.

Price check on aisle boom.

Thing that's great about all those Seattle guys is they hit hard as hell and most of the time they do it leading with the shoulder so no flag.

He would definitely replace Spikes as the tone setter on defense with his attitude, nastiness, mean streak, and swag.

I love it when things like this are stated as it implies there was ever a time when these players "had brains." So much dumbrrr nowadays amirite

Well, to each his own, I suppose.

It certainly seems as though attitudes are a bit different this generation. I don't remember too many players being okay with the fact that they'd be docked 10 thousand dollars because they "felt like" wearing a certain color of shoe that make them look cooler with their uniforms. 10 thousand dollars could be a lot of things to a lot of people. The disrespect alone is a bit disgusting.

"Swag" was called being tough and playing good fundamental football.

While there were always a handful of players who gambled, drank too much, smoked, etc--I also don't remember "up to 50%" of the players doing drugs according to several different former players in the past few years. Hell, they basically announce that they'll be drug tests once in year in the middle of April, and you STILL see tons of people failing them and giving up their multi-million dollar careers. How the hell you do explain that on such a scale, as opposed to the one/two players on each team that would be the bad boys in former days?

Yes...I do believe they are a bit dumber in this generation. That's my opinion, and while you may not agree, I'm sticking to it.

So, assuming he signs, does he start at corner or safety?

Not sure. Although he did play some safety earlier in his career.

So, assuming he signs, does he start at corner or safety?

People have been speculating either position with what I consider equal validity.

I'm not going out on a limb by guessing that Belichick will try the different parts out at each position and evaluate from there what the best fit is for everyone as a unit.

But what Browner will bring (other than energy and hard hits) is versatility and we all know what Bill thinks of that..

Just because Browner MAY have signed doesn't mean he's penciled in as a starter...we went through all this roster building nonsense last season when the Pats signed those receivers. People went nutso arguing about how this one was a starter over that one and it ended up NONE of them even made the cut.

They are not bringing browner in to sit on the bench...very similar to adrian wilson who was supposed to start.

So is there white smoke coming from foxboro? Do we have a deal?

It's amazing how these scumbag agents need to make this all about THEM. First it was Revis' guy and now this guy who needs to play "adult hockey" rather than serve his client. Its a perversion of the relationship. The agent is essentially telling us that "its not a deal until I say it is."

The agent is doing his job, which is to represent browner. He doesn't represent the patriots or their fans. I can understand him saying there is no deal because there isn't until browner actually signs.
