Per Redskins source, Brandon Browner isn't in Washington. Club under the impression he might do a deal with the Patriots.

Quite an important question here guys, is Browner allowed to play in the pre season? For me this affects this deal a lot because if he can't and we just throw him into game situation come Week 5 it's gonna be ugly to start off with and can ruin chemistry.

If he plays in pre season he will be fully acclimated and have the style and system of our D learnt and missing the first 4 weeks would be as if he was temporarily out then he could just plug in for whoever come week 5 rather than come that game he has not played at game pace once in a Pats uniform.

My assessment, which is in line with the consensus, is that both are late one, early two guys. Selecting them at #29 overall falls in line with that expectation.

I honestly have no earthly idea where the "consensus" is that ASJ is a first rounder. Literally every single breakdown I've seen on him has him going in Round 2.

Very nice. Bill finally realizing that it's not illegal to play defense with brute physicality and is getting back to his old ways, if this report is correct and Browner signs. Hope to god this happens. The back end in Weeks 4 and beyond will be something to watch.

because the deal is done in principle, they are hashing out the details.....the agent is upset that he lost a little leverage, and tried to regain it last night


if he really was still in negotiation with 4 teams, he wouldn't have played his game....

He can do everything up til the plane ride home after the last preseason game, then we wont see him again til week 5, and wont actually give him a paycheck till week 9

Hope you're right because i think that's a huge factor in terms of his integration to this D. He needs to at least have been in game situation for us before coming in and helping smack bang in the middle of the season.

I believe so. I think he can participate in all off-season activites. Just can't play first four games.

There WAS a trip to DC planned by Browner.

So it looks starting week 5 or 6 the starting line up in the secondary will be:

Revis and Dennard or Ryan at CB (if Ryan makes the second season jump he could surpass Dennard)
McCourty and Browner at safety

Revis alone can make any secondary above average at worst (assuming he is back to 2011 form). This secondary has the potential to be a top secondary.

Add Woodyard, get Louis Nix III or Ra'Shede Hageman in the draft, and get a pass rush specialist in free agency and this defense has the potential to be a top defense in the league.

If the Pats draft a CB in the 1st I will be inconsolable. Would be a gross mismanagement IMO.

Then when he finishes the year with a half dozen picks you'll think it was a stroke of genius. While I'm on it, I can see quite a few posters who'll go absolutely insane if the only TE they draft is Fiedorowicz. That would be worth the entertainment alone.

Anyone who is a big sports fan and is invested emotionally into their sports team should:

a) Have a twitter account and be following the links connected to their team

OR

b) if you don't have an account then at least check the tweets of people in the know surrounding your team so that you're up to speed.

Anyone who thinks differently and thinks twitter is not important when talking about sports needs to step into the 21st century instead of waiting for newspaper print every morning.
