Cam Newton is a great quarterback and he has never had a terrible season. Winning Super Bowls is a terrible way to judge quarterbacks, except when talking historically about their legacy or whatever.

You're evaluating with the Patriots of the last two decades as a baseline, not as an outlier. You're going to be in for a rude awakening.

You have a very odd idea of great. Newton has only gotten his completion percentage over .60 once in his career and he's only managed to get his QB rating over 90 once as well with an average of 13 interceptions a year. If Brady complete 58 percent of his passes with 13 INTS and an 85 QB rating we'd think the sky was falling. He's a decidedly mediocre QB melded with good RB skills who hasn't managed to get himself killed yet.

The kid ran a complex offense in college and he mastered it I believe he ran a pro style offense at Louisville. It’s actually comical how Allen gets a pass for poor teammates and stuff like that but Jackson doesn’t .

Give him 2-3 years to work on his body and footwork under McDaniels and we could have a star.

The kid ran a complex offense in college and he mastered it I believe he ran a pro style offense at Louisville. It’s actually comical how Allen gets a pass for poor teammates and stuff like that but Jackson doesn’t .

Give him 2-3 years to work on his body and footwork under McDaniels and we could have a star.

I watched one game of Allen’s last year (vs Iowa) and if that game is any indication he should get a pass for his skill position players. Horrible.

I agree with you. The comments made by Belichick, the move by Brady to take it to social media, and then the reiteration of the report now over a full week later all seem to be a bit over the top in my opinion.

That's not what I saying. I don't the Pats are letting anything leak they don't want out there. The smoke etc is from people in the media and others that recognize the fit, not the Pats.

New England doesn't need to be seen drooling of him. There just needs to be intrigue & there was already plenty of that surrounding Lamar & New England to make teams think & rent space in their head.

Again I just don't think we waste his & our time when he was the only QB we brought in to the building.
