I didn't see any others when I posted - I dug a little deeper and saw several people saying "What do you mean Dob?" and he was mostly responding with "I think it's clear" etc.Think it would be only fair if u at least put the entire round of his tweets in.
Dobson started to look good midseason (eg. his catch against the Steelers right before the BYE). His foot injury really derailed his rookie season and cost him a bunch of the second year offseason.
In 20 years, I've never seen Belichick move up to the teens or the single digits but we've been lucky enough to have a sixth rounder as our starter. Maybe it's what the organization needs to keep winning post brady. It would only be realistic if he fell to the late teens, but two years ago Buffalo moved up with Baltimore from 22nd to 16th to take Tremaine Edmunds. They gave up a 1st and 3rd round pick and got a 5th round pick back. Moving up a few picks like that in the second half of the round isn't that expensive. They'd probably have to trade with the Cowboys at #17 to get in front of the Jaguars and Raiders, and it would probably take #23 and #87 and they might get #179 back for it.
Agree he would need time on the bench. Why? Jordan love cannot start an NFL game right now. He needs to be developed.
McDaniels, the guy who wasn’t in the draft room prior to his appointment as OC? Who wasn’t with the team for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 drafts where they selected Taylor Price and Brandon Tate in the 3rd round? It isn't Belichick. It's McDaniels. Can't evaluate and draft skill position players at WR RB TE for sh-t.

Seems like a waste of a pick because you have a QB with a year already in the system. Drafting a mid round qb to be a bench warmer is a total waste. Herbert could start but he would still have to settle in.Agree he would need time on the bench.
I’m by NO means a draft expert, but I don’t see why #23 & a 3rd rounder this year + a 2021 1st rounder wouldn’t do it; particularly if we’re dealing with one of BB’s disciples (NYG, DET, MIA) or a team like CAR/AZ who reportedly are looking to move back in the draft. Just a hunch...Maybe someone like @BaconGrundleCandy, @mgteich or @DW Toys would be of more assistance regarding draft trade value. What would a trade up for tua even look like? I would imagine they'd fork over the #23 pick at least and multiple other picks.
This whole process would be much more difficult without Caserio.McDaniels, the guy who wasn’t in the draft room prior to his appointment as OC? Who wasn’t with the team for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 drafts where they selected Taylor Price and Brandon Tate in the 3rd round?
Belichick picks the players with buy in from Caserio, and Pioli prior to him. Anyone else is just advising them.
Could they put Thuney in the trade? Not sure if he would be worth a 1st rounderI’m by no means a draft expert, but I don’t see why #23 & a 3rd rounder this year + a 2021 1st rounder wouldn’t do it; particularly if we’re dealing with one of BB’s disciples (NYG, DET, MIA) or a team like CAR/AZ who reportedly are looking to move back in the draft. I don't think I'd move up for anything other than a quarterback. I still expect them to trade back barring an unexpected fall for Jeudy or Tua or Becton.
Couldn’t hurt.Could they put Thuney in the trade? Not sure if he would be worth a 1st rounder
Quantity over quality?
List of guys who interest me in the draft for the Patriots. Overall I think it's a supremely putrid defensive line draft (seriously, look below, there's like three guys I'd touch), though some good edge rushers, and great linebackers. Good group of tackles and great group of interior linemen. A ton of good receivers and pretty much nothing of interest for tight ends. Good safeties and corners.
