I don't like the Burkhead news one bit.
We don't know the readiness of most guys that are limited. Branch, Hogan, Van Noy, White, etc. All the talk about being healthy is largely unfounded. Lewis and Bolden still could be the RBs.

Not sure what to make of the Burkhead news. Its only Tuesday. Hes got basically 4 full days to get the stiffness out. Maybe he needs another week?

From a game plan standpoint, if they don't see it as a "running" game being featured as TN has a good run D, they might have him sit it out and lean on DLew and White.

Burkhead injury is concerning. I don’t see him necessary against tennesee. Rest him another week.

We can have the same discussion we had about Hogan. Burkhead probably has a MCL and the report today indicates is probably moderate to severe. Recovery is likely to be > 1month, so he is unlikely to play Saturday and unlikely to be healthy for the rest of the playoffs.

I figured it was an mcl or menicius

The most surprising news is Rex, really hope he is good to go this Saturday. If not, let's rest him and hope we see him in the AFC Championship game.

I cant imagine they would have Rex out there if he wasn't ready. I assume the brace is just being worn as a precaution.

Plus NE has the ability to beat any of the remaining teams.
Not just the ability....they SHOULD beat them.

I hear you on the injuries. JE, High, 16 games of Burk and others would give the team a bit more margin for error. I just don't get caught up w the injuries. Its part of the game that I just accept.

I look at it this way....

JE gone but replaced by Cooks. We all want JE instead of Cooks but he has been more than fine
DA has more time and had a great season
High gone but with more playing time and responsibility, KVN really upped his game.
Marquis Flowers has come on strong
looks like we'll get something out of Harrison (who has been VERY quiet)
Gilmore > Logan Ryan
A very pliable and healthy Gronk for the playoffs.

Hogs and MM are tough ones no doubt. Just gotta hope they can contribute.

The end of this week will have been a month since the injury. But, if Burkhead is still wearing a brace that restricts his movement as much as described, I'd think being active for Saturday night is pretty much out of the question. Him being back anywhere close to 100% by the Superbowl seems likely to be out of the question, too, although he still might be active for emergencies.

I think we all should pray that Lewis stays healthy and that the defense rises up and destroys the Titans and the Steelers on their own.
