Very pleased by the defense but the offense is still troubling. I don't understand how Hogan has gone from hero to zero. I feel Hogan's play is key to how dominant our passing offense is.

Certain calls in our favor really bothered me. Not only did I hate the ejection, I wish there wasn't a flag thrown whatsoever. I also hated the first down on the roughing the kicker penalty. I believe we most likely win without them and I didn't want us receiving assistance on such a prime time game.
This board has no place for self-loathing. The roughing the kicker call was richly deserved. The ejection, IMO, not. But I'll take it. Minus the bout with the vapors.

Only seen highlights so far... but DAM THIS TEAM FIGHT FOR EVERYTHING

Was worried at the start when Gronk and Michel were confirmed out for the game just because the impact they have.

Looks like it was a solid win! Defence played great! Hold Aaron Rodgers to under 21 points is a great result!

Brady was Brady and turned it on when it really mattered. All in all a really good result!

People were concerned early in the season after losing to the Jaguars and Lions that we might have another 2009 mentally soft team on our hands but everything they have shown since tells me the opposite.

It is still a work in progress but you see the players working their asses off. Ultimately the fate of this team will again be decided by the health status of players.

Hell of a win. Hope you’re doing well these days, Snooky.

Umm ... that's just the way this game went?

Hogan played 75% of the offensive snaps. He was targeted once (incomplete). But he also made a few nice blocks, and played a lot on ST where he also made a couple nice plays.

"Take what the defense gives you" and "attack the defense's weaknesses". Play situational football. The Pats have multiple weapons with different skill sets, which is what allows them to adapt. The Packers were apparently "taking away" Hogan, so the Pats offense went to different weapons in this game.

A lot of posters that Dorsett was "done" after not being targeted for 3 games, and yet here he was ... 3 catches on 3 targets for 30 yds and a couple key 1st downs.

Dwayne "Blocker Only" Allen caught 1 of 1 for 21 yds and ran decoy routes, including at least one deep post. He was also the lead blocker on several runs, instead of Develin. That doesn't mean that Develin is somehow "on the outs". It merely means that the Pats broke a tendency that defenses could key on.

The Pats have only been playing this way - using opponent-specific game plans that often emphasize different sets of weapons (those most suitable for the specific situation) - for about 18 years now.

Yes but their success will be defined by how much fun they have.

I think BB has a guy who makes animals out of balloons coming in tomorrow.

He was a main part of the Edelman screen pass running down the MOF keeping a few Packer defenders in place:

Ben Volin is a SUB-MORON...he EATS fecal matter for a living. Patterson wasn't running from the WR position, he was a RUNNING BACK. Volin is a goddamned TURD AZZOLE
I had to go to Google to get the precise definition of "TURD AZZOLE."

OMG. What are the 9ers? 2-7?

Yeah, these guys fight and don't blink. Again, they might not always win, but you can 100% guarantee they will fight.

A bunch of posters complain while this is happening because he struggled to move the chains without white, Michel and Gronk. Even by GDT it was an extra helping of stupid

I don't know whether to quote Gladiator "Are you not entertained?" or Einstein "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.”

My wise-$#@ nature adores the former for its opportunities to crack wise and point out said stupidity by some of the more egregious amongst the GDT who will never ever say anything positive about this team. My analytical side prefers the latter because I like to try and figure out the massive complexity that is the NE Patriots.

Last night's game was one that I never really felt was in doubt because the defense was its more familiar "go ahead get your yards, but in crunch moments you're going to have to be perfect (not just good) to succeed".

That's the hallmark of the best Patriot teams - just that the 03 defense did it like EVERY other down or so, while more recent teams have only had good "spots" and in some cases have likewise had BAD spots as well where they allow a 3d and 18 conversion because the other team found and attacked the really weak underside of the defense (think the RB mismatch which this team has basically solved - at least the past few games).

Definitively though the defense is not horrible, likewise its not great, but no defense can be in today's game.

There are a few Pats playmakers that do great things in key moments and that's all you really CAN have under the new rules, but that also means the ability to impose defense is basically gone but for that fleeting opportunity set.

The majority of GDT posters who are 100% negative, 100% of the time have no clue as to that complexity and while its fun to make snide remarks at their expense...it also gets tiresome after awhile.
