Carr will be on the 53 when 11 is on IR.

Carr wasn't going to make it to the PS.

Edelman will be a question mark Dola may retire after this year, Carr is on the right side of 30 and can develop. We will se how far he can develop.
This bodes well for Carr's development, I suppose. I'm interested to see what happens with him and if he can use his TC and preseason momentum to do what he's done against top level opposition. Edelman is older and Amendola would be playing for peanuts (damn near literally) if he decides to take another pay cut and continue playing after this season, so the Pats look like they'll need some guys to develop pretty quickly. The situation is not ideal, of course, but nobody feels bad for the Pats. They'll just have to figure it out. I worry only about those crucial moments in game. The chemistry between Brady and Edelman was uncanny and now that is lost. The primary chains guy is on the shelf. Please, Gronk, stay healthy. You're that next chains guy.

I have a hunch it'll be Brady.

Burkhead takes many of his snaps, Hogan eats up a lot of his yards, Foster or Carr get his slot on the 53.

They're still incredibly redundant and overloaded with talent.

D.J. needs to be on the roster. dress 4 RBs? no problem when all of them can catch the ball.

Yes four: Lewis, Burkhead, Gillislie, and White.

Foster would always be inactive, and a waste of a roster spot.

I see Austin Carr as a PS guy all the way yes even after Edelman's devastating injury. I think Devin Lucien has earned the spot he's a better WR than Carr. I don't see any NFL Team cutting anybody to add a guy like Carr at the bottom of their roster.

Probably Austin Carr. Similar three cone, shuttle, and broad jump scores. Doesn't mean he's Edelman, but the physical tools are there. He'll probably only play on special teams, but that's fine. Amendola should be able to step in for Edelman; Danny's not the same player but there's no team better positioned for this kind of injury where you can have a top-15 slot guy step in for a top-3 slot guy.

If they were looking for a veteran, and I kind of doubt they are, Allen Hurns is a slot guy and is likely on the trade block. Maybe they could get him for Ealy or one of the swing tackles. Both teams had a close look at each other just last week, after all. He had a really down year last year, but so did everyone on that team thanks to Bortles.

I agree that Carr should develop. That means snaps and targets in real games. The big question? Can he beat the DB off the line like JE. I worry about Dola if he can hold up.

Unlike many, I see Ealy as a value the more snaps he sees. Perhaps they found a niche for him now. He might be the player that Easley was supposed to be as an internal line disruption.
I would opt for Hurns if he can be had on the cheap but can he play the "quick slot" that the Pats use? Hurns is tall 6'3" and lanky.

Here is an interesting trade. I am sure he is available but his CAP number this year is high.
How about Tavon Austin? 58 catches last year with a rookie QB, and 28 runs with 5.7 yard average. He is also a punt returner with almost 375 yards last year, He's durable. 4.3 second 40 (Patriots WR will have mega-speed). He sits behind Cooper Kupp on the depth chart and the Rams added Watkins. Rams have needs on D line (hold out+injuries) and with some of our new members (other than Ealy) maybe a trade works? Malcom Brown? He has been invisible for three games.

A five receiver set with Cooks , Austin, Hogan, Dola (Mitchell) and Gronk?

I say you can get Austin if you can convince the Rams to eat some salary. They also have the youngster Reynolds.

Austin is only 26. JE will be 32 upon his return and Dola older.

Unless Mitchell isn't ready to play (in which case add Carr), I see no reason for an additional WR or RB on the 53 (unless it is STer Bolden). The only other offensive player I could see would be an OG.

If the the trade man wants to speculate on trades, I would suggest looking at DE's.

We don't need a slot starter (we have Amendola). And we don't need a 5th WR (we have Carr if we decide to go with 5).

Also on DJ Foster he looks good going against LB's not so good against quality CB's. Devin Lucien was a better WR than Foster at Arizona State we are too loaded at RB to carry a guy like Foster. Bottom line Foster ain't getting playing time over White - Lewis and Burkhead.

I cannot vote on this... TOO SOON. I'm in denial. Incredlman Edelman is not easily replaced& might be irreplaceable to me.

There's no way they can go into the season with just 4 wrs. They need to replace edelman with someone. Maybe that player's not even in this roster. They will wait to see some roster cuts from other teams.

My first thought would be Carr, then Lucien. In any case we are fine out receiver, still plenty of guys for TB to throw the ball to. It's the Oline who will have to step their game up as no one on the roster, and few guys in the league, can get open quite as quickly as the squirrel.

Are you kidding me? What if another wr goes down? I am one also that has been dissapointed with dwayne allen

If Mitchell is healthy then I think this helps a TE make the team. With White being able to line up in the slot I am not sure there is urgency to keep Carr or Lucien.

I think we will see teams put a safety over the top on cooks and make guys like hogan and mitchell make plays for us.

DW Toys do not overrate Tavon Austin he's been a bust of a WR who haven't live up to his Draft position. It's too late in the Game to learn this Offense we definitely have to go in house on this one. Austin Carr who is not even my first choice is a better WR than Tavon Austin. The Patriots already have their Austin they don't need Tavon.

Pretty clear they're gonna have Calvin Johnson unretire and flip a fifth round pick to the Lions to lock him in.

Hahaha just joking guys! Just a joke haha.

But seriously let's try to get Calvin Johnson.
