Thank you. Jeez. Let's try to have the best team we can. Let's not trade people because we have a wish list.Apparently, the answer to weakness in the OL corp is to trade one of our top 6 OL's.

Giving up in preseason?Trade him before he goes in IR. Look if the Pats had a chance in hell of contending this year I would say not to, but they don’t. Wynn was a bad pick when it was made, and he has not even played half of the games since then!!
If the Pats can get some draft capital for him ( and hopefully not use it to draft another 3rd Rd 24 year old Div 3 guy in the first round), I say adios !!
I think that we should flag all posts that presume that we have given up on the season.Giving up in preseason?
Of course and the decision needs to be based upon expectation of the future. An employee who misses time because they are in a car accident would have a different decision than one who calls in hungover on mondays. That is why whether the injuries are inherent to the player or bad luck matters. It doesn't matter. If an employee is missing large chunks of work due to a variety of ailments related/unrelated and is a mediocre performer a decision needs to be made.
Moving Mike to RT and adding (if they can get one) a solid RG does not make the team worse.
You already seem to think Wynn will be a solid RT. Hes never played it. We have no idea if he will or not.
He measured 6’2” 3/4 pre-draft so closer to 6’3” than 6’2” but you do you and make sh*t up to suit your argument. He is essentially the same size as Beechum.
Yes, he is an undersized tackle but is also an effective one when healthy and focused, due to his excellent agility for a 310 lb. human.
Per PFF, Wynn ranks in the 88th percentile of all qualifying tackles in run-blocking grade in gap schemes since 2019.
Why? We know who they are.I think that we should flag all posts that presume that we have given up on the season.
Duane Brown isn't walking through that door. He signed with the Jets.Who cares which injuries are chronic or not? You consider Wynn reliable and good. I don't.
Patriots signed 34y/o Brian Waters on the eve of the season and he did fine. Even so if they find a solid vet who has a track record of reliability and consistent performance and he needs a week to get up to speed then fine.
No. Not if **** "just happens" to the employee consistently. Bad luck, pre-disposed or stupidity. Doesn't matter. That individual cannot be counted on.Of course and the decision needs to be based upon expectation of the future. An employee who misses time because they are in a car accident would have a different decision than one who calls in hungover on mondays. That is why whether the injuries are inherent to the player or bad luck matters.
You are overthinking this. You keep avoiding why we wouldn’t dump Brown, Parker and others because of their past injuries.
An average starter is not a mediocre player. A bad starter or average backup is.
The flaw in your argument is that you keep inventing a player we don’t have as the solution.
So let’s play devils advocate.
BB thinks Wynn is jinxed by voodoo and will get hurt and miss time. He is so afraid that for the first time in his career he demoted a starter who is better than the backup over the fear of injury. Bizarre but let’s assume. Then he nice Onwenu to T and gets a new G.
Do you cut Wynn? Are we better with him as a backup that the other backups?
Are you saying Wynn isn’t one of our 9 best OL even if we add another random unnamed player that you are counting upon?
Sign me up. He backs us up at C too.JC Tretter might consider coming back if the Pats offered him a good deal to play RG.
FifyI think that we should flog all posters that presume that we have given up on the season.
So you agree that reasons and circumstances and likelihood of recurring matter. That is what I’ve been saying.No. Not if **** "just happens" to the employee consistently. Bad luck, pre-disposed or stupidity. Doesn't matter. That individual cannot be counted on.
You are overthinking this.
Wynn is/was an average starting LT who is good in the run game and mediocre in pass protection.
Wynn is unreliable. History tells us this. Categorize his maladies any way you want.
Wynn has been asked to play a position at the NFL level in 2023 which he has never done. That is risk on top of his pass protection challenges and availability.
Wynn is a FA in 2023. Do they want/need his cap space now or next year? If they get a pick for him now is a better outcome they most likely won't get a comp pick for him next year as they'll be active in FA.
Again, you dump Wynn because of the reasons I have stated IF a reliable, starting-caliber solid replacement can be procured who plays RT or RG and in the same motion/plan we add a pick/player and cap space.
That sentence doesn't make sense to me.So you agree that reasons and circumstances and likelihood of recurring matter. That is what I’ve been saying.
There is a reason some players are more suited at LT over RT and vice-versa. Some can play both. Some can't. We have no idea how Wynn will hold up and perform at RT.You are under thinking it
Wynn is as reliable as Brown. History tells us this. Playing in the right side instead of the left is meaningless. You know that.
Of course they will get a comp pick. It’s silly to imply otherwise.
Only if he plays and performs and right now it's not LT.This is a starting caliber LT. They don’t grow on trees and NFL
Offended, no. Leery, absolutely.teams aren’t offended because a guy had injuries.
I believe I said functional strength. Watch the film, for the most part cole “the” strange “pick” barely moves people off the line.Huh? Strange did 31 225 lb reps at the combine, tied for 2nd overall at the combine amongst all players. He also has a RAS of 8.97 in strength. What made you conclude that Strange isn't strong? He's light for a guard, so maybe that's what's confusing you because he can be bull rushed more easily because he's relatively light. But he is very strong and can easily put on weight at some expense to his elite agility.

I mean you didn't know who it was lolHow would nobody know who a 2 time first team All Pro, a 3 time 2nd team All Pro, 3 time Pro Bowl player and 2nd highest paid T is?
Eh, he was my choice as he is the "smallest" and most injury prone of the top LT's, but ruled him out as what I stated above. The complaint was Wynn's height, so I was looking for someone in that 6'2" range.
There aren't many undersized tackles like him that fit that mold. They're separated by about 2.5 inches between height and arm length.I'd like to know who this mystery guy is as I've looked around and I'm not seeing anyone that fits your criteria.
I actually did, but misread your initial statement “I doubt most here don't even know his name” as “I doubt most here even know his name”. This is why I asked the question and explains the listing of the accolades in my prior post as I thought there was some unknown guy you were thinking around Wynn’s height. Goof on my end.I mean you didn't know who it was lol
Bakhtiari I think.
That's what I was thinking, but he's not undersized standing at 6'5''.
I believe I said functional strength. Watch the film, for the most part cole “the” strange “pick” barely moves people off the line.
Yea Strange will be alright. I think he'll need a year to become acclimated to the level of competition and complexity at this level which is a couple above where he came from.I don’t agree. He had at least 3 plays against Carolina where he drove the DT 3-5 years downfield.
