He played a fair amount of snaps in the Dolphins Falcons pre season game. He's #85, has tattoo's on his left arm and a black sleeve on his right arm.
From what I saw:
Bull rushed by Tank Carradine until he stumbled and fell to the ground on a pass block.
Drops a low ball but catchable. Decent route? I don't know. Not an expert. Dropped a ball though!
Allowed Terril Hanks to toss him aside on a run play who then makes the tackle on the run play.
Puts effort in his blocks at least. Tries to fight but gets out leveraged.
Didn't react in time for a snap and the defender got inside of him easily.
He played in-line on most of his snaps but not a good blocker. Didn't do much in the receiving game. Caught one ball on a scramble checkdown.
Played on kickoff unit, punt unit(lined up at long snapper's left), Punt return(Interior Rusher)
My initial take on him is that he sucks. Can't block, doesn't offer much in the passing game but at least he tries hard. So maybe with the right coaching something can happen? Definitely a flyer.
Whether or not the position is a dumpster fire isn’t proven by trading fir a special teams player who plays there too.Our three most likely TE's are suspended, injured and injured. We need camp bodies. And yes, we may very well acquire another TE.
My understanding is depending on severity high ankle sprains can be recovery times of 4-8 weeks.
