Patriots Not Expected to Be in the Mix for Lamar Jackson

Ian,

I've made mention on the forum. We need to be paying close attention to the Rodgers/jets situation. As if this all came to fruition it could be even tougher on us in the division. I'm sure the organization has had all kinds of internal discussions on free agency. However it ultimately comes down to if RK is going to spend to get talent. If we aren't going to add an elite WR then we best be solidify the CB position.. potentially facing Rodgers and Allen 2x a season. The jets always have played us tough, we can't beat the bills it seems and Miami always gives up problems.

I have never seen a division with 3 teams in the playoffs.. I have to hope something is brewing on our end...
Cringing just thinking about it.

It almost happened last year: we could have been the third Team but there were no powder puffs at the end for us. Also from the 2023 Schedule we ain't facing a lot of weak Teams this year unless they are decimated by injuries.

True indeed, I believe that 3rd team scenario would have then came down to strength of schedule, record against common opponents and all those equations the NFL uses to decide.

We had opportunities to win every game down the stretch the patriots beat the patriots more so than anything else last season. Your absolutely right Mahomes we see this season.. I know we have to sigh our own guys first wich is important.

I just know the AFC is a gauntlet it will be tough for more than 2 teams to make it out thier own division.

The weaker NFC you can be under 500 and make it in...

Much better than you realize but hold onto those narratives.

You're beating a dead horse with these dudes regarding L Jackson Bacon. The GOAT HC BB can't even come up with a scheme to stop him but Lamar sucks according to most on Patsfans.

The amount you would have to give up and the amount guaranteed money makes it a big risk to sign Jackson to an offer sheet.

I don't really have an opinion on Lamar Jackson. I get why the franchise wants to see what we have in Mac rather than giving up two first round picks and a boatload of money. But my question is how well do you think his body is going to hold up if we did sign him to a long-term contract?

He was pretty clutch on the road against Bill Belichicks Patriots last year when he made Bill Belichicks defense look like a high school outfit
All the competent teams the Pats played handled their defense.

If he were a UFA and you are a GM, what would you pay Lamar Jackson?

Please fill in the blanks

Guaranteed $ ____
AAV____
Years_____

Thanks for the information.. I'm sure it happened. I should have clarified I don't see it happening under the 17 game format.. AFC is stacked

Footballs fans are hypocrites if the shoe were on the our foot and we drafted Lamar Jackson you would all be singing a different tune. Regardless some Team will back up the brinks truck for Lamar Jackson because he's worth it. Ask BB what he thinks of him??

Let me know if you've heard this before .. Lamar another player we passed on...

He is the ultimate weapon no DC can solve.. we certainly can't. His throwing ability has become more accurate and he has a cannon for an arm.. I saw him completing plenty of deep balls.. the guy is a one man wrecking crew.. he'll be back in Baltimore... he plays in that cincy playoff game he beats burrow.

You didn't answer the question so I'll assume you wan't to make him the highest paid player in the NFL.

As for me, nope.

I see a QB who after an incredible start to his career has had 2 consecutive years of average performance and can't play 17 games.

....who struggles in the playoffs.

BB is not making LJ the highest paid QB in the NFL. I'm sure he likes him as a player....for a price.

He's good when healthy. But he hasn't been healthy lately and he plays a style which won't last long and will ensure he doesn't have full seasons at 100%. Tough to give him the contract he wants and 2 picks when that's the reality of his situation. If he wasn't a liability for availability, I'd do it in a heartbeat

I just thought of the AFC North. They're usually competitive compared to the rest of the AFC.

Looked it up and the last time it happened in the AFC East was 1998. That's the season Scott Zolak started a playoff game for Bledsoe.

His last 2 years, playoff performances and health concerns do not support your claim....

The Guy is only 26 and you have already judged him he can't get any better yikes. Rob I thought you were better than that.

I'm jealous I sure wish the Patriots had the Ravens problems @ QB.
