Patriots Lose Two OTAs Due To Rule Violation

The NFL Management Council disciplined the Cowboys last offseason for violating rules governing offseason work. They lost a day of OTAs for 2023 as a result of OTA practices in 2022 that were considered too physical, and coach Mike McCarthy was fined $100,000.

The Bears also were sanctioned in 2022.

In 2021, the Cowboys, 49ers and Jaguars were found in violation.

Gee, it looks like other teams fall afoul of this, not just the Patriots. Doesn't fit with your Blame Bill campaign though.,
Did those other teams have a camera in the bengals press box and forfeit a third rounder?

Did they get nailed for a first and third rounder for spygate?

This is a disadvantage anyway you look at it.
Rookies, free agents, and a new offensive system and special team specialists at kicker and punter. I want to know wtf we did.

Two OTAs is "a disadvantage anyway you look at it"? Are you prone to gross overreaction? BB cancels 1 or 2 OTAs every year. It is voluntary OTAs. You are outraged? Haha.

I'm devastated by these news. I demand the closure of PatsFans.com as punishment for this atrocity

Let’s go Bill! Keep rebelling!

My guess is that someone on the team didn’t want to attend the offseason program and reported the violation. The players don’t normally have a problem attending the off-season program when they feel the coaching will put them in best position to win. i am not sure if they feel that way after the last season.

Or you can look at it as two less days for someone to possibly get injured in practice.

Whatever. It is what it is.

Isn’t this also what the Ravens were penalized for a few years ago?

No contact, pads, blocking or tackling. Not too complex
It was only 2 years ago when pats had a camera in press box in Cincy and were docked a draft pick.
Does this seem like a well run organization to you?
Now you're just spitting all over yourself.

First you blame BB for everything and wonder why Kraft puts up with it, then you bring up something that was entirely the Kraft side of the organization (and was a ridiculous issue to begin with).

Bravo. Keep twisting yourself down into that funnel cloud of despair and you'll wake up in Oz.

New England is not the first team to be docked OTAs in recent offseasons. While it is not known yet why the NFL stripped the Patriots of two days of workouts, the penalty suggests that it might stem from a violation of the league’s non-contact rules at this point in the process. If so, New England would be the latest team caught in the act.

In recent years, the Houston Texans (2022), Chicago Bears (2022), Washington Commanders (2022), Dallas Cowboys (2022, 2021), San Francisco 49ers (2021), Jacksonville Jaguars (2021), Baltimore Ravens (2018, 2016), Atlanta Falcons (2016) and Seattle Seahawks (2016, 2015, 2014) were all penalized for similar offseason infractions. The Seahawks were hit hardest among those clubs.

In 2016 — their third straight year of a violation — they were stripped a full week of OTAs and also lost a fifth-round draft pick the following year. The club and head coach Pete Carroll were additionally fined $400,000 and $200,000, respectively.

You're an idiot. Stop following the team then. troll. The Cincinnati thing was such a ****ing nothing burger. Also it wasn't in Cincinnati, genius, it was in Cleveland which the Patriots.com got ok'd by the Browns to be there to film the "Do You Job" documentary.
You are a moron if you think you can dictate who can and can not follow the team
If you do not like the message hit ignore
Get your head out of the sand if you think rules violations has not been a recurring problem for this team

You are one pitiful ****ing "fan" of this TEAM.

No D-Hop for us now he wants to go to well run organization not a clown show. :(

Man, it feels like this board has lost all sense of perspective and common decency. There is nothing about this that should have produced half the vitriol that was immediately spewed in this thread. But that just feels like the nature of things here right now: We start at an 11/10 emotionally and then somehow people try to top that.

Let's get some details about the situation before we start spewing hatred at the team, the league, or other posters, hmm?
