Patriots Have Called on Jeudy

We have the best chance to get Jerry Jeudy we could go Two Draft picks plus an active Player.
#46 - A 4th Rounder + DeVante Parker. I can't see Denver passing that up we don't need Parker.
I also don't think we need Parker if we have Jeudy but you're giving up to much there IMO.

We have a lot of picks plus some really cap friendly contracts that Teams can work with. Getting Jerry Jeudy put us in competing and not rebuilding mode you can't get something for nothing. I mean IF we get Jeudy - Juju - Thornton -Bourne and Rookie WR is far cry from previous years. BB ain't getting any younger and we are in the Tough AFC.

If true that we are trying to get Jeudy - it shows us the Pats front office acknowledges they still need their WR1.. so if we don't get him you have to think Dhop.

Neither are perfect at this stage but both have that WR1 potential - and as a fan that watches to be entertained that's all I can ask for.

At least they know our current group isn't nearly scary enough to keep a defensive coordinator up at night. It would be worse if they just signed Juju and stuck their heads in the sand, as some people seem to think we should do.

I have said it before and will say it again D-Hop or Jerry Jeudy make us instant contenders. Mac Jones will be playing catch with the Defense even he can't fail with the much improved talents.

Jeudy is really talented, the problem is that he’s already 3 years into his rookie deal, which puts him 2 years away from a deal they almost certainly won’t pay. I would however offer them a 4th and Bourne for him.

Trust me a Rookie WR with upside is way better than DeVante Parker he has run his NFL course.
With the additions at WR and TE, IMO Parker is on the hot seat if we spend on FS or OT (maybe) or X WR (for sure). The draft is a bust for X WR. So we sit, or deal. If we get someone in the room that costs a 3rd rounder or better, than Parker is cut or dealt. If a high ticket WR salary wise - say over $18M cap in '23, than Brown is cut, dealt, or maybe renegotiated, and the Pats will draft a LT first pick if Brown gone. Henry could be given a year to cut this years tag too.

Kraft/BB not afraid of dead cap this year - makes sense for Kraft, the value of franchise would be increased by a two 10+ win seasons and fan interest over the next 3 years. Thats a lot more than $20M+ more dead cap than usual. Also get BB ahead of Shula, and end that thing.

I'm trying to figure out why Denver wants to trade him at all. If he's really worth a first round pick, why would they not keep him?

I doubt they're getting a first, certainly not a high first.
Cap relief, and they have two other guys that can play but give lessrelief if dealt -so.

The report that the Broncos "pondered a 2nd and 4th, possibly from the Patriots" comes from a reporter in Denver. You have to assume that report was fed to him by Denver staff in an effort to get another team to give them a better offer than what they have on the table now.

Lately it sounds like the only other team super involved is Cleveland, who don't have a first rounder anyway, and who already have Amari Cooper.

A 2nd and a 4th seems like a good offer, especially since NE has three 4ths and could probably trade one of Bourne or Parker for a 4th or 5th without any trouble.

As long as he's not a rental, sure. I don't want to give up a 2 and a 4 for a one year rental with this team as currently constituted.

It’s not cap relief, he’s in a rookie deal,

That’s my issue with it as well. If they could get an extension I would support it, but there’s no way he will agree to one.

When healthy Parker provides them with a big possession receiver who helps in the end zone, but really helps to widen the field, much the same as Thornton should help lengthen the field for them. Both are needed because two years ago they couldn’t do either, and that allowed defenses to just pack it in and shut them down. What a receiver like Zay Flowers brings is an explosive receiver who gets open instantly. Each type of receiver adds a component for defenses to have to address, and opens space for a ther receivers to work in. They still aren’t where I would like them to be, but they are definitely much closer to a complete receiving corps. One more piece would really help. Jeudy would really help for the next two years, and allows them to fill other needs, but I don’t see them being able to re-sign him.

I think Parker came on as the year went on and showed he was a good fit. I would like to keep him, but if they theoretically acquired Jeudy or Hopkins, it seems like it would be hard to keep all of Jeudy/Hopkins, Juju, Parker, Bourne, and Thornton, plus anyone they might draft.

If they were to acquire Jeudy then there would be no need to draft a receiver this year. And if they acquired Hopkins they could move Parker, who unfortunate is injured quite a bit. But either one is a significant upgrade.

I'm wondering, was Jeudy a contemporary with Mac Jones at Alabama, or did he leave too early for that to happen?
For one season I believe, 2019, when Mac was Tua's primary backup and then replaced him for the last few games of that season after Tua suffered his hip injury.

Jeudy is really a WR2. He does not have blazing straight line speed. 4.46, which is good but not spectacular.
He is worth trading for but not at any price.
I would do a 2 OR a 3 and Bourne.

It's possible the price may come down after the draft if Broncos draft a wide receiver. Bill is smart to wait this out. He is not a generational talent. I think his ceiling is Deion Branch.

I disagree Jeudys play speed is much better than his combine speed.
