I agree that as far as he is concerned he is here next year. I think Kraft already made his decision. It maybe he is keeping Bill and he told him so.

His press conferences are what seem weird to me. They are even worse than when we used to win. He does not come off as someone who cares at all. I know he always hated them but there is a level of carelessness I have not seen before.
I do not think Kraft has made a final decision one way or another. Bill is doing what he always does, which is focus on today and not be overly concerned with the future. Simply put, he lost Grier so he had to add a QB to the roster.
This has nothing to do with whether he is coming back or not. He is simply managing the roster.

I can't see him tanking on purpose unless he is fed up and wants Kraft to fire him. Even Belichick cannot survive an 3-14 season after last year and not having a playoff win since the 2018 season. Even if Kraft doesn't want to be the guy to fire Belichick, he will have to do it if the Pats don't win another game or win only one more.

And this season is going to hurt Belichick's legacy at least a bit. I just don't believe it is in Belichick's DNA to purposely tank.
I don't either, so it's hard to wrap my head around it. I think it might be Bill the GM overruling Bill the HC and that's why he's doing it. (I know that makes no sense but I know you know what I mean)

I don't think they are going to do anything to hurt their chances of drafting lower than 3rd. I think they'll have a close, manageable game with Denver and Buffalo, but lose, and then I think they'll do everything they can do to beat the Jete. Kitchen sink type stuff, STs and defensive scores, trick plays, you name it. I think Bill hates the Jete more than he wants to draft higher.

Gostkowski worked out fine. I don't think you have to get your kickers as UDFA. The thing with them is that when you miss on them in the draft, it's glaring. You miss on an undrafted guy, just bring in 10 of them mid season and have a tryout.
Did they move up for Gost? I don't remember...

Plausible. Then again, I'm biased because my floor for a successful season is a Jete sweep.

I always liked me some guys who played some CFL ( Flutie anyone?).
He looks tall and big in pocket; klnd of Bledsoe-esque.

There I managed to work two historical Pats figures into one post. He‘s probably condemned to mediocrity by me now….oh well.
Good Luck Rourke.
Johnny Football Hamilton Tigers.

Rourke can sling it and he has good scrambling abilities, but that was on the CFL field. The question, as with all former CFL QB's is can he adjust to the NFL game.
I can only count a handful that have done it with some success (Warren Moon. Jeff Garcia, Joe Theisman, Joe Kapp and Doug Flutie)

I agree; however, he is human and there is no way he would not be impacted if he thought he was getting fired in the offseason.

The negligence at tackle and quarterback this offseason has sure came back to haunt us.
Can confirm that he was spotted at Logan.
Why are these guys always at the Hertz rental? If they are going to play for skinflint Bill, they had better move over to the Budget counter.

Fun fact. Hertz owns Thrifty and Dollar Rentals. You get your car at the same counter, but the quality of the car and service vary based on the company.

In a pinch he can run their middle school offense a fraction as well as Lamar does. The kid is never going to run a real offense in the NFL.

Lamar probably threatened to fake an injury again and sit out the rest of the season, if they didn't bring in his buddy.

And I'll buy them as the best team in the AFC when Lamar does something in the playoffs. With the state of the AFC QB situation overall, maybe he squeaks out a win this season, then losing to one of the Dolphins, Bills or Chiefs. **** maybe toss in the Browns. That would be comedy gold.
I never thought that I'd see another QB come close to PEDton's record because I never thought that anyone would be able to play for so long and have so many one and done playoffs as PEDton's 9. If Jackson can pull off another one he'll have 4. He's getting there and his contract says that he'll be staying as the starter for years to come.

But Rourke has to be kept on the active roster for this claim. So they value Rourke higher than Cunningham essentially. Grier too.
That's not an accurate way to look at it at all.

They made the move for Rourke AFTER losing Grier. They wouldn't have claimed Rourke if Grier wasn't signed by the Chargers.

But they could have signed Grier to the 53 to stop him from going to the Chargers. Instead they let him leave and then claimed Rourke. That tells me they were fine losing Grier because they had eyes for Rourke.

Well…At least we know he has a stronger arm than Mac.
