I think the QB market will fizzle down for QBs who are not absolute superstars like mahomes or Allen or to lesser extent burrow and Lamar. The number of bad contracts ( Wilson, dak, deshaun, Daniels, Lawrence ) and emergence of mid range QBs like darnold and Mayfield on team friendly contracts will start to change the parking field for QBs. So by the time we get to maye and if he is a decent QB , maybe we are not paying top of the line money unless he is a top 10 QB.I don't get why the Jags paid Lawrence. They had him under contract for two more seasons and he has been wildly inconsistent his entire career and has sucked since like Thanksgiving of last year. Why pay the guy top of the market money when he was shaping up to be in the lower part of the top third of the league of QBs.
This is why you either want your first round draft pick QB to be a complete bust or a complete superstar and nothing in between. Otherwise, you are going to pay him top of the market money for far less of the top of the market production.
The new TV deal(s) are causing the cap to skyrocket. I think teams wanted to lock up QBs prior to that to have them at a smaller % of the cap. I think a few teams didn't consider if the QB they were paying was actually a good starting QB though.I think the QB market will fizzle down for QBs who are not absolute superstars like mahomes or Allen or to lesser extent burrow and Lamar. If Trevor Lawrence were here in those years, he would've had a winning record. When the backup QB still has a better record than a top paid QB....
Mac Jones: 18-24
Joey Lawrence: 20-32
That's pathetic. It's only a matter of time before the media picks up on it.
I'll reserve judgement until he does this against the likes of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and NO/Atlanta.Looks like the Pats drafted the wrong QB. Wow. This Daniels guy is amazing
Lawrence has been a disappointment thus far. Have to wonder if he will ever truly reach the elite QB tier. When the backup QB still has a better record than a top paid QB....

Could not have been said better.Bengals and 49ers are a classic case of you better win the Super Bowl when you get there because you might never get that chance again.
No guarantees Burrow ever goes back and the 49ers are now getting crippled with injuries and are going to have to pay Purdy soon.
It's also becoming difficult to field a good team without 6-8 key players. The new TV deal(s) are causing the cap to skyrocket. I think to give out a contract like that, yea, it's got to be a legit top 10 QB for more than a single season.
He would have had to been available to the Pats for them to have drafted the wrong guy. He was already gone by the time the Pats picked.Looks like the Pats drafted the wrong QB. Wow. This Daniels guy is amazing
