OT: Roethlisberger not exactly a gentleman on the night of the incident

So let me get this straight:

You started a thread to tell us that a professional athlete was in a club hitting on numerous girls and trying to get laid?

Exactly. How dare he!

I think it says a lot about a guy that he would yell a curse at a woman who turns down his sexual advances. Please tell me you don't think this is how guys on the make--even the ones making overt and even hamfisted sexual overtures--should behave. A guy that would do this is probably more prone to the type of things he's accused of than a guy who wouldn't do this.

Bingo. Thanks for being a voice of reason. When we are talking about crimes, the accused state-of-mind is extremely important. A story like this could potentially be important in a courtroom, even if it isn't important to many people here. It's not like this was a story that happened last November. In that case I would not have posted it.

Yeah, I read that too, and it doesn't paint Rothliesberger in a good light, but that bit about he "seemed disappointed that's all she wanted" sent up red flags. Any time a woman reads a man's mind and thinks she knows what he is thinking, she is probably wrong. And vice versa, of course. But to say this was true about Rothlesberber because some decided that was what he was thinking is just sketchy.

You're kidding right? Youd don't have to be a mind reader to figure out what this guy wanted. He went to a college bar, roped off a VIP section and let in girls only in groups, and then hit on them all, and after seemingly getting all his advances turned down, allegedly followed a girl into a bathroom and sexually assaulted her. This guy practically stamped on to his forehead, "I'm here for SEX!"

You would have to be brain dead not to figure out what the guy wanted...

He seems like a complete piece of garbage.

a huge piece of garbage too. Now thats 2 times, 3rd one will be the charm

I thought I was on patsfans.com, its acutually written in the address bar but I keep thinking its steelers.com or some forum like that.

Why are we discussing Ben Roethlisberger in a bar?

Yes. I'm sure the girl was just the portrait of a sweet, innocent little girl as well and didn't actually say anything snide or *****y to Rapistberger either.

How old are you, like 15? When a woman senses that a man is attracted to her, it's been my experience that she's usually right. Not always, since some women are incredibly egotistical, but in general women seem to have a great sense for when men are trying to get laid. They deal with it on a daily basis.

I'd say at this point there's a lot more evidence of Big Ben being a lifelong dip**** than the girl. Leave it to single males on the internet to lampoon her as a whore for going to the police with a sexual assault accusation, one that frankly is pretty believable.

I'm not any attorney, but I think there is a possible legal difference between "trying to get laid" and sexual assault. How do you know what transpirted?

Does this mean we have to start calling it a Roethlesburger? Calling it "a Kobe" just has a better ring to it. Honestly though, any time a woman comes out with an allegation like this against somebody making as much money as these guys do, there are going to be some serious question marks, as there should be. In this day and age of "I'm gonna get mine," lawsuits are simply out of control. A while back a man was robbing a house, owner came home. He bailed out the second story window and broke both legs. Later sued the homeowners and won. Dis world done gone crazy!

Let's see, a girl turned down his inept sexual overtures (not well honed because he's used to Pittsburgh girls) and he called her a beotch or worse.

And you're defending that?

I'm still here!

And let's see, you've never blasted any of these guys for anything. Right.

Big Ben has hired a gazillion-dollar megastar lawyer and PR team to spin the situation. Among the first things stated by his agent was that a group of people had been "mingling" together that night. Numerous statements followed by his insiders, stating that he was acting completely harmless; they even showed photos where he appeared in autographs. This isn't about gossip... it's an important element of this alleged crime. And what exactly is self-righteous about calling this guy out? He should be accountable for all of his pathetic antics, not just for ones that get him in legal trouble.

If you care at all one way or the other that some guy you've never met possibly did something you need to re-evaluate your life.

He's an NFL QB. I don't care at all about being self-righteous. Of course I'm self-righteous. He's a grown man, he shouldn't be doing the things he does. Now you're asking what's the relationship to me? This is a sport, and there are a lot of impressions these athletes make.

For the same reason, I'm happy that Antonio Bryant signed with the Bengals. I can't understand, frankly, how you root for the Patriots without caring about the player's personalities. There have been players in the past that have ruined my favorite sports for me, particularly for the Red Sox. I can't stand guys like Jon Stewart either for the same reasons I don't like Ben R. Just because I don't know these people doesn't mean I can't be self-righteous about them.

Because it's a sport and I don't know any of the players personally, if they can throw the ball or catch it or tackle someone I literally don't care if they are blowing coke out of strippers' buttcracks every night, it doesn't make one whit of difference in my life. It's entertainment, a game you watch on TV. Tom Brady isn't coming to your birthday party man, as much as you think he's your best friend.
