OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Poor matchup for the Bucs. This is a game where they need Godwin and AB. Could be the end of the line for Brady. Rams won the last 2 matchup handily.

???

Last year's matchup was 17-14 at the half, and had a final score of 27-24.

Which makes his decision to not lock Brady up more baffling.

If Bill only has 1 or 2 years left that would have perfectly matched with Brady. They could have retired together
not really shocking...he wants to setup little Stevie for a big role in the org. best way to do it is help with the transition so Stevie has training wheels (and aDd3rrra1L)

I thought I was tripping! I remember the 2020 Monday Night Football game being a back and forth slugfest in which the Bucs had a chance to tie it up or even win the game but Brady threw a game ending interception

Last two were both in LA, last year the team was struggling to find itself and this year half the defense and Gronk died on the field and AB wasn’t playing either so no change in that department. It’s not the same situation in Tampa.
Last year match up was in Tampa. This year matchup had circumstances around it. The Bucs were missing half their D and if I remember correctly Davis got injured in the game. AB didn’t play and Gronk got injured. The practice squad secondary was killed deep this game. The Bucs D allowed like 5 40+ Yds pass play all season. They had 2 this game.

I am not overly impressed by their D to be honest. Their pass rush is scary but like a previous poster pointed out. Murray had more time to throw than Brady this weekend. In the secondary they have Ramsey that’s about it. Evans has been quite successful against him in man coverage. In the other hand they have a decent run defense.

to put thing in perspective, the Bucs D that was decimated this season and deemed not very good in the regular season allowed less points/g, less rushing yds/game, less passing yds/g and less total yds/g than the Rams D.

the key to this game is the Bucs not allowing big play and make stafford work for it. My bet is Davis will be on OBJ and Dean + help against Cupp. I expect Brady to put points.

The more I think about it we are underestimating home field. Tampa has been totally different in Tampa than the road this season. The point differential is telling top at home vs the road

It’s not just talk on 98.5 because otherwise I wouldn’t bring it up, they actually brought it up first a couple weeks ago and are mentioning it again now BECAUSE there are more whispers about it from some ESPN people, that Brady is trying to leverage Arians out after the season because he thinks he’s an idiot and Brady feels he’s the one who needs to get the whole team prepared every week which he’d rather not have to do.

Leave aside your opinions on Felger and amass. Jimmy Stewart has a guy in Brady’s camp. Like it’s that simple. No one knows who but he does, he had stuff on the 2017/2018 drama and called Brady to the Bucs AND said he wanted the 49ers but the 49ers said no well before that all came out.
As much as I believe that Bruce is not a value add (he's as much as said so himself) I doubt this is true.
WERE it true it's ironic that TFB left BB only to end up with a worse and dysfunctional HC situation.

FWIW: I don't fault Brady for leaving the Pats & I don't believe BB is the mediocre HC many claim. Mutual separation. More driven by the GM's ineffectiveness fielding a supporting offensive class. Grass looked greener in Tampa and it was. Problem may be the HC horse**** fertilizing the grass.

Y'all may remember that I was calling that Rams game a scheduled loss (Across the country, against a top flight team, the week before Brady's return to Gillette) from the very beginning. So, if we accept, just for discussion's sake, that the Saints own the Bucs, then the only real hiccup for the Bucs this year was the Redskins game. The Washington game had Gronk, Davis, and Brown absent, but was coming off of a bye and should still have been a win.

I think it's fair to be very worried about the 2 OL ankle issues (Jensen, Wirfs), but the idea that there's a bad matchup here seems overblown to me. Of course, time will tell on this.

I really can see Stafford crapping the bed in this one! All 4 matchups should be thrillers this weekend! There will be at the very least 1 or 2 upsets!

Bucs’ practice squad protections this week: WR John Brown, TE Codey McElroy, K Jose Borregales, RB/returner Kenjon Barner.

Tom Brady in playoff revenge games? You remember Saints and Chiefs last year, but for his career, he’s 5-6 in playoffs against teams that beat him that season, 30-5 against teams that didn’t. More here, ahead of Bucs-Rams rematch Sunday:

Tom Brady has added $1.875M to his 2021 compensation thanks to leading the league in TD Passes & Pass Yards & a Wild Card win against the Eagles. He can add another $500k to that if the Bucs beat the Rams this weekend. Brady has now earned $29.4M this season.

Expected move: The Bucs have signed wide receiver Justin Watson to the practice squad after waiving him over the weekend. They also released punter Sterling Hofrichter and defensive back Blidi Wreh-Wilson from the practice squad.

I forgot last years game against the Rams was in Tampa. Maybe I didn’t see it because it wasn’t on locally. And yeah looking at the box score it was a very competitive game the whole way, not in any way bad.

Put up 7 fast with a well executive script and then try and tire the D out a bit and stay within a score until the end where Stafford will puke on himself. Really looking forward to basically all the wildcard games. Bills win! SF win! TEN win! TB win!
Sounds good. Let's see it happen.

Fournette is playing Sunday
If it's Playoff Lenny that comes to play, I say Bucs win. Brady is going to have to release the ball quickly and dump the ball to his rb in the face of Darnold and Miller.

Bengles vs Titans Saturday 4pm (Cbs)
49ers vs Packers Saturday 815 (Fox)

rams/cardinals vs Bucs Sunday 4pm (Fox)
Bills vs KC Sunday 8pm (nbc)

this is my bet of schedule for next week

Wow, Brady is playing for incentives while some qbs gets payed $40mill to stink up the place. I don’t know how people can hate him , especially here.
