This is fascinating. I saw a recent top 20 QB list and it had Montana out of the top 5 because it so heavily weighted stats vs post-season play. I am not sure when the definition of "greatness" changed this much but I always thought QBs were judged the most by how they led their teams to championships. I mean that is pretty much true in all team sports IMO.

From Profootball reference.
Their HOF monitor has Manning as the highest graded QB still. It wasn't an illusion that he was a media favorite as evidence by all his all pro votes.
I looked at other players, and they put too much weight on pro bowl and all pro. Not enough on post season play and championships. But I guess that's what the HOF does too.
Must have missed this they almost took out Gronk too
If playoffs started this weekend, it would be JimmyG vs TFB in Tompa. That would be awesome.
49ers are finally clicking. They've averaged 29.2 & allowed 18.7 ppg in last 6 games going 5-1. SF has @Tenn, vs HOU, @ LAR left. Much harder schedule.
In contrast, Bucs have averaged 25 & allowed 20.5 going 4-2. Bucs have @ CAR, @NYJ, vs CAR left.
Brady seems to own Shanahan but who knows. The Garoppolites would go crazy if they beat the Bucs. Lol
I think they get the 2 or 3 seed if they win out since they own the head to head vs CowboysIf the Rams and Cowboys both win out, then the Bucs would be pushed to the 4th seed. You all are going to have to root for the Ravens again in a couple of weeks to beat the Rams lol.
edit: in the above scenario, if the Saints win out as well, they will be the 5th seed facing off against Tampa.

The ESPN playoff machine has them at 4 if Cowboys, Bucs, and Rams win out due to conference record being the tie-breaker. If the Rams lose one game, then the Bucs get the 2 seed because of their H2H with Dallas. As the 4 seed, the Bucs would most likely play Arizona. As the 2 seed, most likely Philly/Saints/WFT.
This is correct. But Cardinals can beat the Cowboys which alone changes this dynamic. Because it keeps the Cards ahead in the NFC West and knocks the Cowboys behind the Bucs in the loss column.
I always thought it was the head to head matchup that determined it. I hope AB can stay healthy. I feel like, with him, it’s like Gronkowski, Moss, Revis, and Gilmore. Guys late in their career who are simply incredible to watch for entertainment alone, and it will suck when it ends. AB is one of the best overall football players I’ve ever watched. Even at age 33, this guy is still torching CBs and is a threat on any type of play.
Wonder if he’ll resign next year for cheap again because he’s such a liability and also seems to adore Beady.
After the fake card fiasco I doubt they bring him back.Wonder if he’ll resign next year for cheap again because he’s such a liability and also seems to adore Beady.
