OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

The philly special play wasn't even legal is another one. It's not that there aren't bad calls in all games either, it's this presumption that none of them should favor Brady or NE or whatever. No one ever talks about the Philly special being an illegal play but if we ran it like that? You'd have ex players spewing hate in interviews.
It's frustrating, but that's how the NFL is. Over the course of a year, you get a sense on which team and/or QB are the NFL head office/media favorites and favorable calls go their way. Sometimes it's certain reffing crews favoring certain teams.

Pats are a good sample size to look at. The years they won the SB, they generally had some favorable calls they needed along the way. The years they lost, the opposite.

As was pointed above, the Eagles SB had loads of example. Even at the last hail mary pass, there were 2 egregious offensive interference penalties. Gronk was held down and couldn't even jump for the ball. The reason Gronk was alone at the end zone was that Hogan was blindsided and slammed out of the play as he was running in the middle of the field toward the end zone.

The calls were clearly going against the Pat's. The only way they could have won was by outplaying the Eagles by a significant margin. Which they could have if they weren't busy shooting themselves in the foot,.. Butler comes to mind.

Getting Gronk back would be great. Seems Winfield will be a go.

He still hasn't practiced so doubtful. With NO getting a break playing SEA without Wilson, the game next week is very important.

Still have no idea how Gronk went from returning to the game, practicing all week, and then it coming out he was legally dead for 35 minutes until he was finally resuscitated and is out for a month.

Here’s today’s Bucs-Bears report — O.J. Howard upgraded to limited participation. Bears dealing with even more injuries now.

Oh. I misread it. I thought he was practicing.
Geno is playing decently for Seattle. Winston appears to be a lost cause.

Feels like Justin Fields is going to get slaughtered against that Bucs pass rush. Yikes.

Way too early to call him a bust and he can throw but something else seems off about the kid. Can't put my finger on it though. Just doesn't look like the same guy people wanted the Pats to move up to get. For some reason he has problems extending the play and escaping sacks and that's not what he was advertised to be. A kid with his talent shouldn't be taking sacks like he does. I wonder if he's not healthy.

That AB injury is worrisome...they will need him vs the Bears. Bears can get to the QB and Brown is the quickest WR on the Bucs that can get open.

AB played the entire game last week and didn’t see hampered. But ankle is scary if it’s a high ankle sprain.

I would imagine they are letting him rest it.

If the Bucs can get a win this Sunday and next Sunday, their schedule is absolute cake until the Bills in Dec.

AB ruled out
Ah shot, another guy whose stats I follow closely is out.

I think at least one of Evan's, Godwin, Tyler Johnson will have big games.

Also, exciting to see peak Fournette. As good as he has been lately, he hasn't had a monster game. This might be the game.

Antoine Winfield has cleared concussion protocol and can play Sunday vs. Bears.

Arians said Jason Pierre-Paul did not practice but is still in play to go Sunday against Bears. Pushing through shoulder and hand injuries.

Tyler Johnson is definitely the main beneficiary of Antonio Brown being out Sunday. Steps in as a solid WR3. Keep in mind they talk about the players we ask them about …

TEs need to step up (Brate a/o OJ).
