OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I don't think the main form is going to be worth reading for quite some time. That lost to Buffalo coupled with the collapse at the end of the season it's not going to make for very happy posters. Not to mention that the team is not set up salary cap wise to have to fill a lot of holes given how much money Bill spent last offseason. The true rebuild is going to be this year when they lose all the veteran players most likely to retirement or being cut and then have to try to replace them through the draft. I am optimistic about the draft given last year so I do think the arrow is pointing up but it's going to take time. Buffalo is a wagon right now and I am not even sure that we can beat Miami consistently. I mean we haven't beaten Tua yet.

BB overall has been great except he has stunk as a talent evaluator on the offensive skill position side for about 5, 6, 7 years.

Now Mac I think will be OK for the next 4 years on a rookie contract. His level seems to be at the Dalton scale similar to Alex Smith or Tannehill level. A competent game manager where you can use the 20-30 million saved from not paying an elite QB to surround him with better talent.
i generally agree but i think Alex Smiff was actuallty pretty good and won in spite of coaching blunders

The true rebuild was this year. You can set a record amount of money in FA and not consider that a rebuild

No surprise. It is what it is. Its ironic that if they just sit him for 4 weeks that would probably be enough time to fully heal for the Super Bowl but they are gonna have a much harder time even getting there without him.

I feel like the Bills are gonna kill the Chiefs.
I'd hope so. Chiefs might have a false sense of confidence after beating an atrocious Steelers team.

Bills finished 1st in PGG and defensive DVOA this year. They can pair one of the best offenses in the league with that too, who can beat you in a ton of ways.

Another part of the problem:

T Josh Wells has a "pretty good quad problem,'' and they'll have to wait and see how he does this week.

Another part of the problem:

If Wirfs can't go(cause I expect Jensen to play) I would plug Stinnie in guard and slide Cappa at the tackle position.

Another part of the problem:

The only thing I will say is an olineman has a better shot of playing on an ankle than like a running back, but he is not going to be 100 percent.

I mean jensen came back in and played the rest of the game, so I see him playing. But yeah I think you slide folks over.

They'll need a solid Oline vs whoever wins. Donald/Miller or Jones/Watt

Tom Brady completed 78.4% of his passes Sunday, his second best in a playoff game in his career (92.9% in 2007 divisional). The Bucs defense pressured Jalen Hurts on 38% of his dropbacks. Totally different defense with Shaq, JPP and Lavonte David back.

Arians said Jamel Dean (7 tackles, 1 pass defended) had his best game as a Buc yesterday.

If the defense plays like it did yesterday, the Tampa offense is not going to have to score 30 every game.

The Tampa defense will be going against a QB that can throw next week.
It will be tougher for sure but the way the front seven was flying around was wonderful to see. The back end also came up with a key pick in the first half to. I will say this for Bowles, he gets his defense ready for the playoffs and his schemes are much better than the regular season.

Rooting for some two week long bumps and bruises to whichever team wins tonight.

They definitely look faster from what they've shown the whole season. I don't care if it was the Eagles you can tell how they swarmed to every ball

Easy to be loose and fast with a lead and playing a QB who couldn't hit a moving train from 20 yards away. Next week will be interesting and hopefully they are trying to contain Murray and not Cupp. Either way should be great games next week.
