OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Looks like Bayless and McAfee sources were correct.

Buccaneers are releasing Antonio Brown today, league sources tell ESPN. He is, as Bruce Arians proclaimed Sunday, no longer a Buc.

Last week, Antonio Brown and his agent requested that the remaining $2 million in incentives in his contract for this season be guaranteed, per Bucs’ GM Jason Licht. The team declined to guarantee those incentives.

Antonio Brown did not tell anyone on the Bucs’ medical staff about his ankle bothering him on gameday before the game against the Jets or during it, per Bucs’ GM Jason Licht.

Buccaneers made what they call “reasonable accommodations” to bring this matter to a close early this week if in fact Antonio Brown had an injury from the game and the wide receiver declined to cooperate, per Jason Licht.

Bucs made two doctors’ appointments in New York for Antonio Brown so they could place him on IR and pay him for the remainder of the year, and he missed both appointments, per Licht.

Bucs could have set up those appointments in Tampa, but they knew Brown was in NY and they believed they were trying to oblige him. Brown and his agent declined to send the Bucs his medical information from their doctor visit this week, and still have not returned their calls.

One other note to this saga, per Bucs’ sources: At halftime of Sunday’s game against the Jets, Antonio Brown was agitated about not getting the targets he was expecting during the game and had to be calmed down.

He gone.

Let's see what the Chiefs and Packers do.

Bucs’ official statement on terminating the contract of Antonio Brown:

Bucs coach Bruce Arians, who doesn't normally address the media on Thursdays, will speak today following the team's release of Antonio Brown. Cue the popcorn gif responses.

One thing that’s interesting is Antonio Brown wanted his money back for services not yet rendered from Alex Guererro and the trainer happily obliged. But when a Chef asked Antonio Brown for money he was owed for services, it was called extortion. Got it.

He gone.

Let's see what the Chiefs and Packers do.

They won't sign him. No team will at least for this season. AB will lose all credibility that he has left.

He is crazy enough to do all this and now go play elsewhere. They have known about the bone chip for months and it's a pain tolerance thing I bet.

His statement said he needs surgery. I really doubt he'll sign somewhere this season.

Ha. He’s on (fire) this morning on IG. I mentioned this on the ?@dpshow

However Antonio Brown wants you to know he’s still tight with teammates and of course Tom Brady.

Many players need surgery but wait until after the season. I don't know if a team would sign him right now though.

#Bucs are thin at RB but Giovani Bernard and Leonard Fournette each did some running on the side today in an attempt to come back from IR. Bradley Pinion punted. No sign of RB Ronald Jones (ankle).

So essentially, the Bucs GM set this up by not just giving the incentives.

Hopefully 2mil isn't the reason why Brady can't repeat.

Yes AB is ultimately to blame, he is a delusional diva but they knew exactly how he is as a person.

If they were planning on hardballing AB they never should have resigned him. That money saved could have gone to OBJ when he was released

You can't guarantee $$ to AB. Look what happens
