Nice story on the cruise, man, and I like reading your system. I said it before, but I'm out a huge chunk of money for my daughter's wedding but on top of that I was able to give my daughter $1k of the casino's money to have fun on the honeymoon I sent them on. It's incredibly gratifying to think that spending money was all from gambling.

I think what separates the people who do 'well' gambling and those who don't really comes down to how you handle the aftermath of both your wins and your losses. Pretty much anyone who posts as much as we do on this forum is going to be in the 1% of knowledgeable football fans so we have an advantage over the rest of the league in terms of being able to gauge how the games will go. But you still have to accept that some days things just don't go your way. You can't do anything to change or control the random nature of gambling when it comes to win or lose.

The only thing we can control is ourselves (unless you're a compulsive gambler). Having enough willpower to stick to a plan when it comes to handling wins and losses is the one other advantage we have over stupid money.

I'm also super grateful to myself for not putting money on this game.

Yeah but you're a normal, well-adjust human being. The rest of us are gambling to distract from our emotional problems or disappointing penises.

Amen, I was getting nothing off the late one today except a possible under play that I didn't feel truly confident in. I thought Chicago was over valued but surely one pick six in desperation time from an excellent D could have covered it. Just not the kind of game that gets my green.

Apparently I have emotional problems I am unaware I was distracting myself from because while my penis has occasionally been disappointed I can't recall it ever being disappointing. OFC Mrs Maust's mileage may vary on that recollection.

Would’ve been nice to have that parlay but considering that was my only “loser” and I put myself in a hedge situation to make money off of it I can’t complain. Won 475 between the 4 games. Gotta start looking into next weeks games

It had to be a great feeling handing your daughter the unexpected cash, thanks for sharing that.

You won't have to go too far back in this thread to find a post where I joked about no dressing up the rare pig of a weekend I had but then I turned around and killed a busy Week 17, a week that usually isn't worth much action. Like most anything it pays to keep your sense of humor handy and not take yourself too seriously. TBH I don't really get too up or down about much. That's not one of those 'at this stage of my life' things, I've always been that way. I lack the excitability gene, might explain why I've been successfully married to a redhead all these years lol.

I always saw this post but never opened it up, maybe next year I'll get in on the discussion.

I finished the season +$300. I don't very huge amounts, it is just fun and an added reason to watch the games I'd be watching anyway.

I'm also glad to stop once the Patriots playoffs begin, because I don't bet on Pats games.

Had the Colts ML, Hou-Ind under, Seahawks ML, Chargers ML, and Eagles +6½.

Parlayed Eagles +6½ with Colts +2

About time I had a decent week.

So I don’t gamble, don’t have the testicular fortitude as I hate losing money.

But yesterday I was celebrating my birthday at Hooters with some friends and I’m in the bathroom at the urinal and they have the sports section pinned to the wall.

I saw the Eagles were 6 point underdogs and I said to my son, wow if I were ever going to bet that would be the one.

Of course I was wrong about all three other games. But that moment of urinal clarity was interesting.

I don't gamble but I liked the under in the Philly/Bears game. I thought the combination of Chicago's good defense and below average offense made it a good bet.

I think that money mgmt is half of the equation in terms of seeing success. I’ve seen so many people, myself included, hit around 60% plus, only to screw it up by not managing the bankroll properly. As you suggest, it’s much more than just choosing the right side.

20190107_184614.jpg Getting it out early for you degenerates this week. (Corrected cause my dumbass had temporary dislexia)

    Playoff Record:

    ATS: 3-0-1
SU: 2-2 (it had the Phi/Chi game with a .05 point dif)

Thanks for updating the system, although your NFC games are off. Just pointing it out so that you can catch it. Always appreciated, man.

Money management is very important. Someone that sits at a blackjack table and just plays the same anount of money every hand is going to have a hard time winning for example.
