I see the Saints named Winston the starter.
Tell me how both teams, and the player aren’t better off, with this hypothetical trade:
Patriots receive Saints 2022 third-round pick
Saints receive quarterback Cam Newton
Yep.It's debatable whether, at this stage of their careers, Cam is a better option than Winston, and even harder going to a team this late in the preseason process. If nothing else, I doubt that's worth a 3rd round pick to the Saints.
Just the little obstacle of them already having 1, perhaps 2 better QBs than Cam.I see the Saints named Winston the starter.

Sure......I see the Saints named Winston the starter.

Why would the saints want Newton?I see the Saints named Winston the starter.

Winston today >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Newton today
seem to be in the minority here, so I’ll do the sensible thing andre-evaluate my opinion in light of the reasonable pushbackdouble down, acting even more solidified!
Why would the saints want Newton?
If we cut him they wouldn’t even claim him. They didn’t want him during the off season.
Winston's INT numbers in his last season in Tampa were an aberration. His previous high had been 18, in his second season (15/18/11/14). Also, prior to that last season, his passer ratings had been 84.2, 86.1, 92.2, 90.2, which wasn't terrible. If he returns to his two previous seasons, rather than that last TB seasonYou think? But to be honest, I don’t think either is good. I view Newton as either a rock bottom starter or an ideal backup. I think Winston is terrible…THIRTY interceptions in a season?! That number makes my head spin. How does one fix that?
We disagreeI think Winston is much worse than what the majority of the football world thinks. I wouldn’t even rate him a backup quality QB. If you have a great offensive line and skill players (like New Orleans), a barely competent Cam be enough most of the time. A turnover machine like Winston will flat out lose you so many games.

It seems I’m reading more into 2019 than you, and most. I’m expecting his confidence to be shattered by that failure, demotion, and seeing Brady come in the next year. Maybe he’ll indeed pick up where left off before Arians and do better in the Saints system. My implosion pick last year was Josh Allen, so we’ll see if my hunch is wrong again.Winston's INT numbers in his last season in Tampa were an aberration. New Orleans has a legitimate chance to be a playoff team.

You going to double down and pick Allen as a regression player?
I’m singing it right now.I can see Gillette stadium singing « We want Mac, We want Mac » before the end of the first quarter
