Draft Rumours 2026

From Tony Pauline

"Sources suggest that the Cardinals have a clear target for their No. 3 overall pick and are already planning a move back into the first round for a quarterback."

"During pro day month, I mentioned that Chris Johnson, the athletic cornerback from San Diego State, could be a potential surprise as the first round closes out, but some in the league now believe he’s a lock top-32 choice. "
"
Many will be surprised to hear that some teams have Bisontis and Rutledge ranked ahead of Pregnon. The basis for this ranking is that several franchises view Pregnon solely as a left guard, while many teams believe Bisontis and Rutledge can play left guard as well as the all-important right guard position. I mentioned the New York Giants as a team considering Rutledge at the top of Round 2, yet they have told people they believe he’ll likely be gone before they are called to the clock with the 37th pick."

The chatter seems to be getting louder that Rutledge could end up in the bottom half of Round 1."

I am assuming Iheanachor, Miller and Mesidor all off the board at 31, unless the Pats trade up.

Rutledge, Stukes/McNeil-Warren, and Rodriguez/Golday are BPA options for me.
Let's hope someone wants to trade up for Simpson.

Like Lake Wobegon, every draft pick will apparently go higher than expected this year.
That's how it goes.

Amateur draftniks get ahead on their own with who is who and start to share some podcasts and player highlights, followed by the professional draftniks and more film and the player love starts with mini-obsessions and your true binkies being revealed, and then the teams and their scouts get going with playoffs and all star games and then NFL media get involved with the February Combine and start talking to the teams scouts and it sorts out what the teams might think of the players by end of March and then the misinformation begins in April and you realize how mentally exhausted you are when the Draft arrives to break your heart.

It is awesome.

I wish I could give this post more than one winner rating.

Apparently Francis Mauigoa, Spencer Fano, Monroe Freeling, Kadyn Proctor, Max Iheanachor, Blake Miller, Caleb Lomu, Vega Ioane, Keylan Rutledge, Chase Bisontis, Emmanuel Pregnon, Gennings Dunker, David Bailey, Sonny Styles, Rueben Bain, Keldric Faulk, Akheem Mesidor, TJ Parker, Zion Young, Malachi Lawrence, Gabe Jacas, Caleb Downs, Dillon Thieneman, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren and Treydan Stukes are all going 1st round.

Arvell Reese slips to the Pats at 31.

Someone always slips. It's just a matter of who and are the red flags been justified as to why they fell?

Bear in mind that when pundits hear about what individual teams are doing, it’s not usually from the teams themselves, but other teams making judgements.
