If the Defense continues to be so awful, they will be 8th in the league in points allowed, at least only 7 teams allowed an average of fewer than 20 points last year.

You can’t live and die with the blitz.

I don’t want to say too much until I review the film, but my God, did we really bench White so Chaisson can treat an OT like a blocking sled and engage and try to push him all the way to the QB? It could be the first ever 2 gap run defense pass rush strategy I’ve ever seen.
Chaisson didn't show anything, but I didn't see anything from White either.

we're a fairly young (+ new) team - here's some positives.
- 2 rookie OL starting and playing wire to wire (and fared okay btw)
- Henderson got his feet wet (played a lot - more than Rham)
- Woodson played a lot ( I think he will get better, and be an important piece )

negatives - that must get better immediately
- Front 7 was horrible. After all the money & hype - they were horrible at pass rush (and LB coverage & tackles)
- Maye - must get mechanics back, and coached to just "see & throw"
- RBs - keep running, and better run plays (switch who does what runs - Gibson inside, Hend outside)

Perhaps the raiders adjusted at the half.
==========
In any case, if a team is making sure they stop your running game, then your receivers will be open, and they were. Yes, there is one more step required.
The Raiders didn’t adjust they played zone on all but 1 rep.

We adjusted by taking a balanced offense of 20/15 pas to run that had our qb go 14/20/150 with his 2 top receivers catching 6 passes an average of 18 yards beyond the Los to zero runs by Stevenson or Henderson in the second half, one by Gibson, a jet sweep and a scramble and 26 passes.

We adjusted our way into making it easy for the raiders

A running back had one single carry the whole second half and it was Antonio Gibson. I don't think the Raiders had as much to do with it and it was just Josh completely abandoning the run.

that was incredibly disappointing. I actually visibly saw Chaisson being useless and unimpactful as an edge holder and especially as a QB rusher. White seemed to play less snaps, but also did nothing. sad.

And we thought we Won FA.

The MOST concerning thing about Maye and offense - is his inaccuracy.
You don't just "fix" that in a week. You can fix some alignments, and schemes, and play calls...
But you can't suddenly become accurate - that's an offseason, long term thing that should have been done already.
I'm worried.

Most responsible for the loss: Josh McDaniels.
I didn't like his end with the Raiders... he was a hated bastard there. Kelly's name was mentioned for an Interview at the end of last season for OC. I hope we didn't make a mistake.

Rham should be Inactive he looks slow and have no Power: ulseless.

I mean it’s painfully obvious. His attitude scream of a guy that thinks his talent will compensate.

There is no improvement in his footwork or mechanics since last year. It even regressed. It doesn’t scream of guy that is very concerned about it.
Seems to be a guy that cares to me. Pretty natural to revert to what you know in moments of uncertainty.
I know plenty of golfers who slice the ball. They hate it and try to correct it (including paying $ for lessons)but when the heat is on out comes the slice. It’s most certainly not because they don’t care, it’s just what their body is used to to.
To say Maye doesn’t care is unfounded and unfair.

Fix his fundamentals, he needs to do the same thing every time and become a passing robot like Brady was.

It’s a brain problem, he thinks he can rely on his athleticism, he’s always on his back foot trying to gain style points or make off kilter throws when a boring fundamentally sound pass is all that’s needed.

The coaches didn’t have anyone ready for this game, they especially don’t have Maye ready for this season. It’s tough love time.

Most responsible for the loss: Josh McDaniels.
How many times has he tried to recreate this offense without Tom Brady only for it to score about 17 points a game and him to be fired?

Maye looked jittery the whole game but if you're gonna ask Drake to stand in the pocket and be Tom Brady then it's gonna end with a new QB being drafted, i would of loved an innovative west coast guy as OC but this team is obsessed with trying to recreate the good old days.

Stevenson is the third best running back now (what a horrific contract), it's been 2 years and his carries are almost a wasted down the guy just has zero burst.

Henderson had 25 snaps, Rham had 46. Seemed more even between the 2 watching the game but Tre needs to be the main back and those numbers need to be reversed. Rham had 3 bad chip/pass blocks that were killers.

Honestly surprised he wasn't sent packing at cutdown day. Not confident his fumbling issue is fixed, not a great blocker, and RB's fall off the cliff hard.

We should offer him to a team who believes they could use him.

Pittsburgh comes to mind.
