No offense, but in what universe is the Pats secondary better than the Bills? I’m not sure there is another team in the league with a secondary as good as the Bills.
edit: just checked and bills are still third in pass rating against since white went down. Secondary isn’t the only factor there but yeah they’d have an argument.
However, for what it’s worth, I remember seeing something a few weeks ago along the lines of the guy that annually ranks nfl secondaries ranking the Pats as number 1. Didn’t read further in depth, but another point of info to take for what it’s worth.

Take out the bottom dweller Jaguar game and it's what, 21 pts a game? Yeah not too into celebrating going 1-3 over the last 4 games. It's apt to be worried. On the flip side if you don't even expect them to win then just enjoy the offseason in 4 days and I'll be rooting for the oc to get a new HC job this coming Monday
You're going to say beating the 3-14 Jaguars was a major achievement? ok Whatever you tell yourself to feel like going 1-3 the last 4 weeks has been fine. They have the #1 pick again because they were the worst team in all of football.
Forget about football, time for a general attitude adjustment. You and footie pajama guy FCB should get a nice cookie and some hot cocoa together. Maybe have a sleepover, read comic books, etc. Then in the morning someone might make you pancakes or waffles with lotsa syrup before going out to play in the snow. See, there's plenty to look forward to.
French Toast...with bacon. @captain stone is obviously a French Toast guy. I'm in. A little TLC heading into Saturday night is definitely in order. These teams split during the regular season - each outplayed by an opponent with the right game plan. The Bills fans are as freaked out about this matchup as we are.
I'd say they are under more pressure in this one than the Patriots who come in as a Wild Card. McDermott, Allen and the Bills have been the team on the rise for a few years now and should be expected to take the next step. They have nightmare games from this season just like the Patriots do. No one knows who is going to show up for this one.
Yeah. French Toast, definitely, on Saturday. Everybody should treat themselves right. Dig out their their most comfy Pats gear, and bring their A game. I love playoff football.
Those who are tasked with actually analyzing the performance of defensive units thinks there are several teams near them, including the Patriots.
You won't get any argument from me that the Bills have a very good secondary, and I won't put up much of a fight to anyone who says they're the best, but to say there is no one "near" them is pretty silly (and inaccurate).
I can say with certainty that I'd have much rather face the Bengals defense/secondary than the Bills, but I can't recall any postseason run where the Pats got a favorable draw in terms of playoff matchups that ended in a Super Bowl victory; always seems the toughest/most adverse path through the postseason is the one followed by Super Bowls ... so bring on Buffalo, on the road, in frigid temps.
Your team is very good at the moment and I have a lot of respect for them. If you weren't an ass of a poster at times, I'd probably even root for them if they made it past the Pats (not that you care about my rooting interest(s), nor should you).
People aren't taking into account the Jeykll and Hyde element to the Pats this year. The toing and frowing of the debate of no talent vs our rankings on offense and defense are essentially both right. We have gone from getting consistent pressure and sacks to virtually none. Our pass D is highly rated but at times it has also looked poor ie Allen, Preskott, Mills, i think even Tuas average performance was more him missing people than our pass D playing great. We can't stop the run against even below average running teams. We have rookie QB who has done remakably well but he is still a rookie. Our O line can be horrific and amazing often in the same game. There is a lot to feel optimistic about. RB's Mac, Kendrick, Henry and i think the line will come good but there are also biq questions marks over DL, LBS, depth at corner etc....... And i havent even mentioned special teams.
You're not even consistent. I've seen you b-tch about NKeal Harry. Not everyone has the same schizophrenia you have where some things are OK to criticize but then others you just don't want to talk about it.

I think the TE argument isn't really about saying the Patriots have a great TE group. They have Henry, who's been really good, versus Dawson Knox who has almost identical stats. There's obviously more nuance that could go into the evaluation of both guys, but let's say TE1 is a wash.
But after that, the Pats have Jonnu Smith. Make no mistake, Jonnu's 28 catches for 290 yards is a big disappointment for me this year, and if we were comparing the TE's on the value of their contract, Smith would be a negative. But for production on the field, the Bill's #2 guy (Sweeney) has 9 catches for 44 yards.
It's interesting APF....It seems. like other than the Jax game, all the costly/meaningful penalties have been against us.....maybe it's just me being a homer, but I am not usually one that will focus on the refs.

It sure feels that way. I wonder though if it's just a general lack of rhythm with the whole operation this year. On the offensive side it makes sense: with a rookie QB, things are going to look a little slower pre-snap, a little jankier overall. But on the defensive side (and this is purely anecdotal), I feel like I've seen more instances of guys trying frantically to get each other lined up and communicate who has who right up until the snap. Might be a case of more moving parts in the secondary due to injuries and the Gilmore trade, but it just hasn't looked as smooth as recent years. And when you're a little behind pre-snap, you end up a quarter or half step behind the play, and you start clutching, grabbing, and otherwise at angles that make it hard to win your matchup without a penalty.
you sure about that, Andy? I've read literally THOUSANDS of posts since the preseason that McD is the worst coach at any level in the NFL....seems everybody...oh wait, check that...somebody , yeah that's it..somebody has a hair across his azz about our OC.
