Our signing of 3rd string players won't make this a top-quality line. For that, we need
1) A nearly average LT.
2) a nearly average backup LT.
3) a solid backup center.
4) Robinson and Wallace to develop for at least 1/2 a year.
5) Strange to come back.
Andrews out
Strange out
Sow out for the majority of the last pre season game.

Its been musical NE OL so of course they look horrendous.

So ends the strange and sad story of Mr. Anderson with the Pats. I’ll admit I liked the idea of signing him, seemed like a late bloomer on the rise and then all hell broke loose for him. I don’t think he got back to what he seemed to be in Denver, but that may have been a mirage. Anyway I hope he finds some success .

A lot of LBs on the PS.
I agree with Andy.

As he has said a few dozen times, we are indeed thin at LB.

Also, we have Mapu on IR and Takitaki on PUP.

Bentley is a dam good LB, excellent blitzed and run stuffer.. I love Tavai and his motor, guys pretty good in coverage too Very instinctive.
We have McMillan also. Yes, we just need health.

We’re even thinner at the More Important position of Outside Cornerback.

The Pats should look for a trade mid-season or close to the trade deadline almost as if they were on free agency, make a sound investment, looking at next year. That time of the year some teams are out of contention so you can find talent on a discount. Free agency is always more expensive and players are not really excited to coming here and thats pretty clear.

The Pats should look carefully not only at LT but also Center, Andrews is probably not coming back, he's certainly not going to stay for a lenghty rebuild. That way trading for a player mid-season you still have time for the player to gel with the current roster a bit, and then a full offseason next year. For OL that's valuable. There's really no other way if they don't trade or sign a FA they will have to use a 2nd or 3rd round pick pretty soon on a Center and then endure the development of that player with a 2nd year QB.

I think that could be a good idea. A team with many holes to fill should never pass up a good deal so even losing teams should be open to being buyers at the deadline if the right situation came along. Andrews was just extended though this offseason.

Looks like our plan was to evaluate what we have in our draft picks and bargain bin signings before really spending alot of money. I believe the deadline is nov 5 this year so that gives you a solid 8-9 games depending on how close you cut it to the deadline to asses what we have. We may know alot more by then on guys like wallace, robinson, chuks, our younger cb’s and wr’s. We should be on the lookout for edge players too unless ximines really steps up.
